Just listening in and they just informed me frigging Mark Grote gets a world series ring. That seems a bit much.

I'm pretty sure Peeps' mom has a WS ring. If she works for the Sox a few more years she may get a statue in the outfield.

Pretty much every team gives staff a WS ring.

They don't receive the same one as players. There are tiers in quality.

Yeah. You work for the team you get a ring basically. I think they were saying the other day there are various tiers of rings so while he might get a ring it is probably not the same level of ring as the players or management is getting.

That makes sense. They did not specify that. I also forgot about Sox and Bull's "workers" getting tokens.

Drinky gets a ring too, the penile variety.

I think I heard somewhere that there are different tiers of rings and all staff members receive something. I'm shocked nobody has brought that up here yet.

Did Speigel complain that he didn't get a ring for ripping off Hand Jive for the new Cubs/WSCR theme song?

Oh, I've heard there are different tiers of rings. Will confirm ASAP.

I knew a guy who worked in the Bulls front office. They would get an all expenses paid trip during the playoffs and he did get a ring for each championship. I wonder if he got the same ring as the players.

I tried - again. I'm out.

Parkins and his repetitive annoying "underSHtand" did it.

Does he do this on purpose?

Kap & Company for me.

Or maybe I'll wait until the Theo EpSHtein interview is over?

I've heard Jud Sirott (Blackhawks Pre & Post Game WGN Radio guy) often speak of his three Stanley Cup Rings he has received.

She does have the ring.

Statue will be unveiled inside Gate 4 in Summer of 2020.

From what I can tell the Cubs have a full-sized WS trophy. I was at a Sox event last year and they had the trophy out. It looked awfully small and I was told that theirs was about 2/3 the size of a normal one because of the flukey nature of their win.

11-1 postseason run and WS sweep vs 11-6 and winning in extra innings in Game 7 of the WS after a rain delay stalled the other team's rally. One is fluky, one is not.

Sox didn't face any good starting pitchers.

We faced one. He went 2 innings and gave up 3 ER before the historically good Sox team chased him from the game like the bitch that he is.

i noticed what appeared to be a size difference also. IIRC, since 2005, the league tweaked the design of the trophy. specifically the flags, i believe. not sure it has anything to do with how it was won.

Clemens, Pettitte and Oswald and that was just on series. That's stupid.

The Cubs only had to face Bumgarner once because of the silly play-in game. Cleveland was missing their best pitcher and their best position player and the Cubs still needed 7 games, a dropped fly ball, and a rain delay to beat them. Meanwhile, the White Sox didn't even need a bullpen in the ALCS.

You cannot compare to the Cubs to a historical great team. It simply does not work. The Cubs are a great story, but they are not a historically great team like the 2005 White Sox were. I am sorry if you cannot understand this fact.
