I only caught part of it towards the end. Could someone give a recap? Thanks for your support.

apparently the "Larry not going to mid-days" thing has been brought up multiple times and Larry is not angry. Wait, he is. Wait, he's just saying "don't take it any further"

It fits better in this thread:

Parkins is "pressing conflict" according to Larry...
It happened a few weeks ago but when the Romo to the booth story came out Larry and Bernstein were talking about it and Bernstein basically didn't care that he was jumping right into the booth over other people who were already there and Larry said at least three times that he understands why people would be upset that it was just handed over to Tony Romo.

Without saying it, it seemed like he was thinking specifically about Parkins when saying it. It was me inferring what he was saying but I'm pretty confident that if you asked him what he thought about Parkins it would include some negative things.

Did he strenuously object?

Larry is a thin skinned mofo. It was from a segment. Parkin's isn't starting it. I wish Parkins would of stated he is not changing his "art" because of poor Larry's feelings.

I agree that Larry is thin skinned. Parkin's acts like he didn't think the "Can't do It" segment wouldn't turn into this. It was pretty obvious the first time I heard the segment that this would be the outcome.

Very stress-y!

Larry did not show a lot of class, and I really wished Parkins would have called him on it, but he saw the high road as the best path.

And it only got testy after Larry and Jason started hazing Parkins.

I like the segment because it makes the guys uncomfortable. That's never a bad thing comes out as truthful radio. Larry shouldn't get so angry about fucking asshole callers.

Completely agree on that. The segment makes for fun radio for the listeners.

I don't get the issue with Parkings being brought in. He's at least a Chicago native (so he is familiar with the teams) and he worked as a host in a mid-market already so he's not an amateur.

You would think there would be bigger fucking issues when they brought in the fucking worthless long snapper with 0 radio credentials and no worthwhile opinions. If there was anger over that, it would be justified, but Parkins? Nah. 670 is full of crybabies.

some of the funny stuff:

Larry was apparently oblivious that a caller brought it up, not Parkins. Warned Parkins that this should be the last time they talk about it. Again, as if Parkins has any control over it...now it's going to be a staple of that segment. Larry also mentioned that his twitter followers are the ones keeping him informed of the transgressions...

Yea, I'm sure he heard about it on twitter since he apparently showed up at the studio door while Parkins was talking about it.

What I find fascinating is that apparently this Webster stunt-double asswipe doesn't realize how prize-winningly dumb it is to be "warning" a co-worker to not do or say something on the record over the public airwaves.

And "art"? Holy Christ on the Cross ... can you imagine the epic blistering that would ensue if, say, Coppock referred to what he did (okay, used to do) as "art"?

What a cockwagon ... the kind of cockwagon that won't take it up with Management even though they decided that he was an inferior candidate to the fella they ultimately hired.

he mentioned his "art" at least 3 times. If there were anything that would turn off a nominal sports talk listener, I would say that would be it...

They can't go to Mitch because they will hear the truth. They were hired because they work cheap and not because they are generational talents.
