He said that Ted Phillips is absolutely running the football side of things. Bernstein loves to go hard at him when he says this.

Listen or don't.

I was going back and forth all night with DP.... he is such a Ryan Pace Homer. Must be a millennial thing.

I want to hear Bernstein defend Teddy like the lap dog he is but I don't want to listen to transition to hear Jason Goff talk over everyone.

I never really had a very strong opinion one way or the other on Phillips until Bernstein started repeatedly telling me he was completely blameless and it would be absurd to hold him the least bit responsible for the Bears' failures. Real "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" vibes.

Dan Wetzel interview was strong regarding the UT-Schiano debacle.

Called the effect of people spreading false rumors about a coach they don't like chilling and asked Matt if everyone from Penn State should bear the brunt of what went on.

Did Spiegel hem and haw and get really angsty about it then say something a about difficulties in unpacking it?

It was a good interview, and Parkins just made a great point when he said, regarding social media:

"Facts have never mattered less, and people who have few facts have never had more power."

Scary.

I agree with Parkins on Pace; he walked into a shit show with no young talent and at least brought in some players that can be part of the core going forward.

Give him 3 more years but with a new head coach.

Phillips to the McCaskeys is like Goodell to the NFL owners. He knows where the bodies are buried.

We have designated threads for Trump angst.

Ain't that the truth. Goff ruins just about every Transition.

The Penn State stuff derailed the Phillips/Pace power structure discussion.

Rozner is all over Pace. Just said this is year 3 and only 8 players from Emery are here. It's his team. Emery was 23-25 when he was fired.

I believe Bears were in management-approved tank mode under Pace.
