This is the one year anniversary of the Spiegel and Parkins Show.

It has survived and become a pretty good show despite Spiegel being an inhospitable douche at first and Laurence embarrassing himself by being, and remaining, jealous of Parkins.

Listeners can win Spiegel and Parkins prize packs today which include, among other things, tickets to see Spiegel's cover band.

Man... Spiegel is hilarious. On his soapbox right not to end the show talking about how Parkins is self-aware, and that's why they get along, because Spiegel can't get along with anyone is not self-aware.

The man could use some mirror time. I've come around on him a little bit recently, but this was bad.

Don't think I've ever had a faster turnaround on a show. Absolutely hated the combo at first, but the last three months has been great. Mostly due to Parkins hitting his stride.

I caught the end and transition. Spiegs was telling a story and Mac got brought up. Parkins jumps in and plugs the Mac and Mully show tomorrow morning and Goff gets salty and says “we know. Go on with your story.”

He’s probably the most likely to be replaced by Mac of the four afternoon and midday hosts.

Mac sort of became their "wink wink nod nod" racist cracker trope. Probably because he likes hockey and hates the NBA. Not sure there was more to it than that. Though Mac sort of assisted Goff with fill-in hosting ops, etc.

Because Mac leaving was supposed to signal the era of "very. smart.radio". Bernstein's sickening monologue the day after Mac left was something to hear.

Now guess what? New boss.....bad ratings....and Mac is back. I'm sure Goff and Bernstein can't believe it.

Because he's an ungrateful bitch.

When Goff was just a lowly B&B producer, Mac allowed him to sub on his show several times. Mac did this even though the great Ja Sa Go would relentlessly attack Mac on the B&B show.

Guess what? Goff will smile and give Mac a big hug when he sees him in person. "How you doin', playa. So glad you're back at the station. Missed you, brother."

Because Goff is a phony.

I don't think so. Mac seems to have an MJ like memory for these types of things that happen in the business.

Great, I would like some details on that!!!! I asked TB at a book signing and he said Bernsie didn't have problems with any host, just disagreed with Matty a lot. Plus Goff hating on him is shameful. mac went out of the way to help him, and on a post here not long ago, Mac said he and Goff were cool.

I hope so. I do not recall this and would like to hear more of what was said.

Mac just says that to keep the peace. He wanted back at the SCORE. What's he gonna say? That he thinks Goff is a phony punk ass bitch. Of course not. But that's what he thinks. That's what a lot of people think.

I think Mac is cool with Goff. I’m not sure the feeling is reciprocated.

I vaguely remember Mac getting irritated with Goff several years ago for his repeated use of Daaaannn Maaanneeeel.

Yeah but he's said multiple times since then that they're cool. Talked about liking Goff on Dr Ken's podcast iirc.

Can't speak for others but that was the day I turned on Senor. He was never a purer shithead in that moment.

Oh, I didn't see that I was being asked to fill people in. I think people already give the gist of it but when they announced Patrick Mannelly was going to host, Dan took time to personally thank Rod Zimmerman for not bringing Mac back, saying that management had been "permissive to a fault" and "accepting to a fault" of Mac's issues with depression and addiction, and that Rod did the right and courageous thing by not offering Mac a contract. Also, with Mac off the roster, now the Score could say that every major host had at least a bachelor's degree (though didn't Mac?), and that this would make the Score a better station than it was before. There may have been some other stuff in there, might be worth combing the archives for the show thread, but it was a look behind the curtain and I didn't like what I saw one bit.

I heard it at the time. I cannot remember if TB was present that day. I kept thinking someone needs to check little Danny and cannot recall that anyone did.
