I think Mac explained his Sox/Cubs thing many times and it makes some sense. Like many he was a big Cub fan in 69 especially Billy Williams. For whatever reason he left that and gravitated to the Sox especially 77-2005. He was a real Sox fan. He is not from the city though so he does not possess the Cub-Sox hatred like many of us do so he was ok enjoying the Cubs winning.
