He's absolutely grating to listen to with his voice in this condition.

Mac sounds terrible, but I can't imagine anything sounding worse than Len Kasper advocating for baseball games ending in ties. Shut up, nerd.

The Bovada show pot has been given a nice boost from this tournament.

How about they play an extra 3 innings with only 8 guys in the field and if still tied after 3 extra frames they go to a 10 round HR derby.

Well, he backpedaled like he was trying to win the Ecnarf ed Ruot, saying that it would never happen and he didn't necessarily want to fight for it, but said that in an age of protecting pitchers' arms and avoiding people leaving for the exits before the game is over, maaaaaybe it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if major-league games were capped at 12 or 13 innings. Len said only 2% of games go past 13 innings, anyway. Okay, so then what's the problem? I'm gonna find the Joe Sheehan newsletter he stole this idea from, wad it up, and throw it at him.

Baseball standings shouldn't be like hockey, hockey standings should be like baseball.

Oh, and of course, Len said that infinite overtime isn't a problem that the NBA has. I think praising the NBA has become like telling your wife she looks nice before you go out -- it's this gesture that's required of you as a matter of course. The Philly Special was one of the greatest plays in Super Bowl history. I wonder if they got it from the NBA.

Then like I said in the thread in the MLB Section, if saving your bullpen is more important than winning a ballgame, have your guy groove a couple of fastballs in the 13th or 14th inning and somebody will hit one out to end the game soon enough. Or just put a position player on the mound to throw batting practice for an inning.

 The last few minutes of an NBA game- OT or not- can take as long as an MLB game does.

Nothing is gained out of 15+ inning games. The product is shit. The fans are checked out.

They should ask Gregg Popovich what he would do.

Let's just leave it alone. It's rare that they go longer than 12 innings. So everybody calm the hell down.

Ties in baseball? No. People just want to change stuff for the sake of doing something. It's fine.

Do a 25 + 1, where the extra player has to be a pitcher. Then shut the fuck up and play by the rules. Ot stop training relievers to simply rely on heat and train them to pitch and maybe handle more than one inning.

Wait until Mac’s voice improves, he’s working on a parody song,
An ode to Loyola losing, “Good bye Sister Jean”...

Is he still asking about home runs with every cub at bat when they're losing?

It’s funny how much you hate the NBA. I’m not Ltg, I know it’s not a racial thing, it’s just amusing.

But yeah, baseball ties are a horrendous idea and bob should know better.

Hell yeah. Correct me if I’m wrong but if nothing else you’re a baseball guy, right? Baseball guys shouldn’t promote that type of nonsense. Leave it to the baseball haters to try to suggest crazy ideas to “fix” the sport.

That said, Hussra’s idea has merit.

Bullshit. I was at Friday's game in Miami. Over half the crowd stayed until the bitter end.

Only people who prefer the DH don't see the greatness of a 17 inning game.
