He sounds a little better.

It would be nice if Grote would shut up.

Mac talking about betting with Olczyk and called Silvy cheap.

Pernicious myths...

Silvy has gotten better with age, security, and $$$. Why did he call him cheap?

Waddle and Silvy will be at the Derby and I assume Olczyk will be with them. Mac said something like "When Silvy make his $20 bet and then complains about...(something I don't remember)...that cheap bastard!" and then Mac did an impression of Silvy complaining about money.

Silvy has very thick skin compared to most guys on 670 and 1000.

Is Tad the only board member listening?

I guess so.

There are hardly any daily threads for any of the shows these days.

nah, I'm listening, I just don't consider the show thread worthy unless Mac is in (as he is today)

Witten is not a first-ballot HOFer and he is not better than Gronk.

I had forgotten that Mac is every bit as giggly as Goff was.

What is this obsession Parkins has with needing to see celebrations? Now he hates humble players because "most are fake?" Im never going to understand this mentality. I was born in 1980 and my father only really taught me two things. Never hit a woman and be humble. I dont see society trending away from humility and humbleness as a good thing on the field or off. We are creating generations of narcissists. It's so spastic in sports now that a guy can celebrate a one yard tackle for loss when his team is down 30 points with under 2 minutes to pay and no possibility of that play being meaningful in any way other than to his own statline. It doesn't just look stupid but it is stupid. And he knows it.

Baseball has a problem because generations are different. I personally dont think they are different for good reasons but I dont see how over the top celebrations will save the patient and thinking man's game. We are not raising people to be that anymore. Most parents are not like that anymore. Fortunately for most of humanity, life humbled you on its own. Otherwise, I dont think we'd be here right now.

There is also a massive difference from where that celebration stems from. The Japanese see it as performance art. There is no ego behind it.

It might just be me, but I have heard a ton more drops today. I rather like this show if they're going to keep that up

He doesn't need to see them. People who talk about celebrations don't actually sit there and enjoy the celebrations. Wow, look at the launch angle and exit velocity of his bat flip! It's simply a matter of signifying that you're in the correct tribe, because the people who are adamantly opposed to celebrations are -- almost to a man -- a bunch of Trump-loving chuds.

Listened for a few minutes in the car. Parkins sounded like he wanted to have fun. It was a good listen, but Mac doesn't sound up to talking even 5 minutes over 5 hours

There was a fine segment towards the end of the show that celebrated the 4th anniversary of the day "Ramblin' Grimace" was first used on the air, including the context around the drop, and the drop played about ten times. Then there was discussion as to when the nickname 'Grimace' was coined, though I don't recall there being anything said indicating when.

Actually pretty decent show today. Mac is growing on me a bit. Liked Park from the start.

I’m pretty sure there was a thread that had a Gif of Spiegel waddling around on stage during a tributosaurus show and someone made a comment that he looked like Grimace. Mac probably read the thread and thought it was a nickname.

Give proper attribution Mac.

I don't imagine he likes the nickname so you can throw the blame on us as well.

I've always liked well placed drops on a radio show. I like production value but not overproduced national sounding shows.

I want to say maybe I was the one that noted the Grimace similarity but that might be a false memory. Mac added the Ramblin' when he had to run to the can with a bad case of the shits.

Wasn't it when Cover Band Dinosaur "BECAME" Prince and Speigs was wearing purple...hence the Grimace nickname?

I wasn't old enough for HFC, couldn't get ESPN out in the sticks and really only momentarily listened to M&S. So this is my first initiation to Mac...yesterday he's complaining that he can't see the producers, so he won't be able to tell when they play drops...and he says he loves drops.

I may tune into this show full time. Set Tanny free and I'm a satisfied customer.

Bring back the Crackers drop, etc Tanny. Set your course for 2007-2011 B&B.
