Chet is the epitome of a cautionary tale. He blew at least 15 years of income because he didn't try to understand how the market might change and how he could best adapt just a little bit in order to keep with it. Even at today's deflated incomes, that's $1.5-2M after taxes. If Chet hadn't burned so many bridges, he could settle into retirement at 70 with a couple of nights a week on a XM platform [his style would have been tailor made for a joint llike VSIN] and a weekend guest-heavy gig here. Instead, all he has is MCing events when companies buy blocks of seats to Hawks games and want to meet Bobby Hull and Tony O, and pretending to ghostwrite books for aging athletes (I suspect that he has an actual editor who does the real writing). But no, he had to go fuck it all up and blame every single person around him along the way. |
