Gary Player lets it all hang out during an interview. He's a good listen even for the non golf fan. Even Parkins couldn't screw up the interview totally. Player brags a lot, exaggerates a lot, but come on it's Gary Player. He's a treasure trove of golf nostalgia. For 83 he's really still mentally sharp, and physically fit, and embraces life.

Player strays off golf a lot and likes to get philasophical, and talk about politics. There was a hint of age mocking Player, and disrespecting him when he got off of sports. Throughout the interview they piped in the "83" sound over Player talking. Parkins actually told Gary Player lets get back to sports.

This would have been handled better by Hub or Shuster.

There was so much bullshit he spouted.

1. Runs on the treadmill everyday at full speed
2. Leg presses over 300 pounds.
3. Shoots regularly a 72.

There were so many others. And then he started bitching about kids. Don't get me wrong, it was a hilarious interview, but he crammed a ton a bullshit in a 15 minute segment.

You care enough to say he's bullshitting.

But you're wrong, he's not.

My thought is the guy is so full of himself, and overconfident. Successful people are all somewhat arrogant. I see some President Trump in him No yips on the green for this dude. Give Yu some off his blood.

Frank, do you really think an 83 year old is capable of running full speed on a treadmill? That's not exactly a brisk jog. Come on.

Whatever his full speed is, sure I do. Your full speed in basic training was probably a lot different than it is now, or vs a 55 year old guy.

Gary Player has always been a fit motherfucker. Other than the MMA guy the board had (Mr Hernandez?), he's probably more in shape than anybody else who posts even at 83 years old.

Alright, this is ridiculous, but if you want to believe he's cranking a treadmill up as fast as it can go and staying on it for more than a split second that's your prerogative.

I can only assume he meant he runs as fast as he can on the treadmill, not that he runs on the treadmill at the highest setting. But I didn't hear the interview so this is my uniformed opinion.

Yep, Player was this close to saying he was a Trump supporter and Parkins shut that down immediately.

Player is always a good interview.

Guy obviously loves the game of golf, is enthusiastic about fitness, and enthusiastic about this country. It was an honest interview. Guy said to support your country and if you don't like the leader vote for someone else. That's not all that bad of advice.

Yeah, I also thought his honesty came through when talking about Tiger. He praised his game and his accomplishments, but I chuckled when he referred to Tiger's ill-advised swing changes as "pathetic."

Hey dummy if brisk jog is as fast he can run then it's his "full speed".

I didn't hear the interview and I don't know if you or Frank did either, but it seems like Frank and I understand "running full speed" to mean his full speed while you take it as making the treadmill run as fast as it can go. In any case, all treadmills are different. Maybe he has an old one.

Player speaking of young people in America said "There's too much of a sense of entitlement." Those are basically fighting words to a limp dick pussy liberal like Parkins. You could tell by Parkins voice he was really put off by those comments. He would of went on the attack, but he didn't have the balls to slug it out with Gary Player. Parkins was chomping at the bit to call Player a racist. The only way I ran across this was Les put it on to kill time during a dearth of callers.

I don't doubt Player, I read an article 7 or 8 years ago where he said he did 1k sit ups daily..the guy looked great and he was mid 70's.

Now hub claiming he does 1k pushups a day, total horseshit.
