I found it hilarious that Mac is one of those guys who interacts with his favorite stars of the past. They should do a remote from AV Awards or whatever adult convention they have in Rosemont. It can be sponsored by the chewy pill Parkins reads for. |

of course. These are people just like anyone else. They have interesting stories that don't have to be entirely filled with adult content. How did you become who you were? How do you return to normalcy when it is over? |

judging by some of the books they write afterwards (i.e. penny flame) they join convents. or they become raving lunatics like jenna jameson. |

I don't have any interest in any of their lives. It might be interesting to read a short Wiki style bio of some of the "legends" particularly those that succeeded even today or in the business end like a Nina Hartley. Otherwise blah. What would be more interesting to a guy my age would be to see some of these vintage classic clips of these movies in more modern resolution. Like wow look at that perm, jugs and landing strip. |

Landing strips were an entire airport in the 80s My guess is the shaved look didn't start to come into fashion until the 90s and the bad look wasn't until well into the 90s. Those Demi Moore shots are from the mid 80s |

Early 80s still had the 70s bush. By the end of the 80s the trimmed look was in...iirc. |

I was out in New Jersey for the Hambletonian in the mid/late 80s. I was staying at the Sheraton Meadowlands. As I was heading over to the racetrack in the morning I saw signs for Glamourcon. I had no idea what it was but there were a lot of hot chicks walking where the signs pointed. So I went up there and it was early enough that nobody was really checking and I got in for free and walked around. It was a bunch of has-been porn stars and cheesecake models selling photos and autographs. As I was heading out a woman beckoned me over to her table. She wasn't some bombshell. She looked like someone's cute mom who was probably pretty hot about 15-20 years ago. I had no idea who she was, but it turned out she was Playmate of the Month in June 1970. That was a little before my time as I'm a Karen Price/Victoria Cooke/Liz Stewart/Justine Greiner kind of guy. Anyway, her name was Elaine Morton (not to be confused with her cousin Karen Elaine Morton who was Playmate of the Month in July 1978). I had a great conversation with her. She was so nice I couldn't believe it. I feel bad now that I didn't buy anything from her, but I was young and broke and needed my cash for gambling (not much different than now except the young part). I've been somewhat obsessed with her ever since. She's definitely my favorite all time Playmate. |

playmates usually have a much different story than pornstars It seems like most playmates are a one time affair for a woman trying to make her way into the entertainment industry. After they are run through by Hef they seem to settle down and find a rich, older husband. Pornstars seem to be damaged from youth, poorer from the beginning and generally a little off in their look...not bad looking, just slight flaws that keep them from being able to model |

I didn’t check in until now but I’ll certainly co-sign on the 70s/80s bush. We are poised for a renaissance. |

I just listened to the Podcast "The Last Days of August". It's about the suicide of August Ames. It's written by Jon Ronson who wrote the book about online mobs - "So You've Been Publicly Shamed". The podcast is really well done. It gives great insight into the behind the scenes of the porn industry, and it's about as awful as you expect. Chicago tie-in is that an interview takes place at what appears to be the Bulldog Ale House near Loyola. Worth a listen: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t ... 1258779354 |
