my wife was talking about going to see some springsteen cover band the day before thanksgiving. I haven't been out in quite a few years on what used to be the best going out day of the year in my youth so I was ok with it. She told me it was some popular group named Tributasaurus. Now she really has my interest. It's at theater on the lake which is a bitch of a venue because there is zero parking. I'll tell him you all said hi |

playing covers can be very lucrative. I'm friends with some of the guys from High Infidelity, and that band makes a ton of money for only playing weekends and essentially playing the same show over and over.... |

I assume Tributasaurus makes some decent money. I don't think they can quit their day jobs but it may pay the mortgage. Spiegs has gotten three wives out of it so they must be big enough to have groupies. |

Middle aged Karens from St Charles love shitty Journey tribute bands. |

The show was good and I had a great time. Lot's of random old friends there. I pre gamed drinking a couple of heavy pour old fashioneds then went over to the Theater early so I could grab a table. Speigs was in a corner devouring a hamburger. Jokes aside, he looked pretty svelte. Maybe he hides it or my eyes are going. I also was drinking fairly heavily. The middle aged housewives were all titillated being brought back to the glory days for a couple of hours. Too many divorcees coming up to me and telling me their stories, as if I was ever a sympathetic listener to those tales of woe. I got my own problems, sister! I followed it up with the Bodeans at City Winery for the late show Saturday. I'm a fan from way back but it's tough to see the band playing for 350 when I first saw them open for U2 at Allstate. I like the venue but that is far too genteel for rock and roll. I don't drink wine but I had a glass just because...did not like the high compared to beer. anyway, my musical tastes suck but I had fun, so piss off. I did get my wife Dropkick Murphys tickets for christmas when they play here near St. Patrick's Day. Little harder edge. I'm more out for a night of drinking than anything when I go to a show these days. |

On a 1-10 how did Spiegz sound imitate Bruce? |

also, they didn't play Born In The USA. You'd think that would be a must play for a group playing before drunken middle agers looking to sing along |

I can't even remember how far back that goes. |

The only version of "Born in the USA" worth playing is the bluesy, solo-acoustic version that was meant to go on Nebraska. The stadium-rock version sucks. |
