I will move the questions/comments in "Media Graveyard" and answer them here over the weekend. Keep 'em comin'. And thanks to all who were/are willing to participate in the music lists for the book. Crankin' on the book. Feb. 15 deadline looks quite attainable. It will be published in the fall and you'll find out where to find it when I do.

Interesting week. On many levels. "Working" from home can be a good thing. Injected a turkey breast earlier today... did some honey-do stuff... went to my nephew's 6th-grade basketball game... wrote some stuff for the book... exercised... all in all, a terrific Thursday.

Only ones I can think of I would like to know.
1) Who really did destroy the Boom Box?

2) Why was Savard removed ,really?

3) Do you think the NBA will ever Drug Test for Marijuana ?

4) Did you regret having North on after he was let go and let him walk on/ worm out of questions you like he did?

the others I do not have the testicular fortitude to ask.

What are your true thoughts on Harry Teinowitz. Even after you were made to play nice with him, did you want him gone from the show? Would you ever work with him agian on a radio show?

Have you had a chance to check out B&B. That show is hilarious...

That was one of the ones I could not bring myself to ask Ivan

B&B has been great lately and I bet Mac would agree. Here's my question, sorry if it's already been asked. Mac, when you start whatever new show you end up on, what would you change or improve on from MJH from the get go? Are you willing to do the 3 man booth again or do you prefer just 2? After you left the Score you came back fresh and improved on ESPN with seemingly a different perspective and motivation and were even more successful. Now going back (let's assume) to the Score, how do you see yourself or your radio personality changing? I know you had the #1 show for quite awhile but something hasn't been there for me about the last 2 years or so and I found myself listening very little compared to the first 4 or 5 years. Interested to see what lies ahead in Mac Version 3.0.

"What are your true thoughts on Harry Teinowitz? " I would like to take a stab at Mac will say.

-Rough start, never saw eye to eye and didn't even like him.
-Grew on him after awhile and became accepted part of the show.
-Even found the humor is Harry's commentary in the last 2 years. thus didnt want to kill him and the show got better instead of forced.

P.S. I think Jurco would like to squash him. lol

Did Allen Brothers pull their advertising after ESPN let you go (since you were there spokesman and all)? I noticed they no longer are part of the prize on J VS H. That was some damn good meat but too expensive for me.

Perhaps you have not been home during the hours they have attempted to serve Mac's response.

Mac,

What are your thoughts on the future of satellite radio?

Thanks.

Have you been listening to sports talk radio, since leaving WMVP? If so, who are you listening to?

I have personally switched back to WSCR, as I find the show Boers and Bernstein do, superior to the stuff that is now being produced on MVP. I have TRIED a couple times to listen to MVP, but as I had concluded from times you were on vacation/ in penalty box , it was never going to be a great show, with Carmen. He's okay for weekends or as a second fiddle, but not a guy that can drive the show. He has no spontaneity. Cannot come up with witty comments and funny lines quickly. He really has a very dull sense of humor. Nice guy, but as you say, plain vanilla. Solid vanilla...maybe, but very definitely plain. I heard that the fella's are doing a list of top guy movies and that Harry's movie, Up The Academy, is on the list. That automatically makes the list pure garbage. It's bad enough that Harry wants to suck up to anyone he's ever shared a drink or Email with, but now he wants the same treatment for himself? That movie is horrible. I couldn't get halfway through it, without turning it off, a few years ago. The couple times I did tune in, Jurko seems to be disinterested and going through the motions. That tells me, that he knows he's gone in the spring as well.

Okay-in light of everything I had just stated here, I have 1 more question: How much, if at all, does it bother you, to listen to what your former show has now become?

Why don't you just get it over with and ask Mac out on a date?

Dan - to echo a lot of the same sentiments that I have seen here, thanks for the memories. I look forward to many more to come in the coming months in whatever forum you choose.

Couple of local flavor questions with you being the resident food/establishment critic -

1) Can you for the life of sanity recommend a decent upper faire restaraunt in NW Indiana? I honestly can't even think of any worth their salt. I have done Gaucho's out in Valpo and it's hit or miss and not exactly what I would call upper faire either.

2) Cigar bar or cigar friendly establishments in the region?

3) Would you consider an outing somewhere in the region of your choice? I think a lot of your fans and followers would love to have the chance to break bread with you and to thank you for all the years of entertainment you have provided. No it's not the Clint Eastwood lifetime achievement award, but hell we have nothing to look forward to in the afternoons anyway - why not provide a small (offline) forum where we might be able to hear what you really think? I'd welcome that opportunity.

Just my thoughts.

Dave

Where's the best steak you've had in the Chicago area?

Allen Brothers excluded. I'm talking restaurants.

Mac,
What is the deep dark secret regarding Jack Brickhouse? Boers & Bernstein have dropped many hints. I think I know the answer, but I don't want to believe it.

Thanks,

Steve, I could be wrong here, but I don't think Mac has made one comment publicly regarding his taste/distaste over what happened at MVP or his like/dislike of Harry/Jurko or anyone else. I think, but I don't know for sure, that he might have had to sign some kind of confidentiality agreement in order to keep getting paper until his contract runs out. That's the only thing I can think of that has kept him silent on the answers to questions we all want to ask...

If you go way back to the Beebo and Taa and Martin days, Big Fan used to have an avatar of a chick flashing her boobs on her webcam.

How times have changed. You'd probably get a warning email now from bigfan himself for doing something like that...
