Per a suggestion in another thread... it is indeed a good time to go to Las Vegas. The depressed economy has hotel rates dramatically reduced. Paid about $200 a night to stay at one of the major hotel/casinos. According to employees in the spa/fitness center... business has been slow. That mean well-rested hands from a strapping young massage therapist named Jesse.

Had a great trip.... managing to break even. Was up about $1200 on roulette (and Hawks and Hawks over Thursday night in Calgary)... but gave it all back Saturday night. I count breaking even in Sin City as a win.

If you're a sushi fan... recommended eating at Nobu, in the Hard Rock Cafe hotel/casino. One of the best meals I've had. Been to both Nobu locations in New York (prefer the one in Tribecca) and it frustrates me our town can't get one of these outstanding restaurants. For steak... TJ's Steakhouse in the old Las Vegas Hilton served up a melty, delicious prime rib.

Nobu, excellent! top 5 places.

Agree breakeven is a W

How's the vibe Mac? Walking through the casino at the Wynn, the Rio on a Saturday night seeing all the tables packed, people everywhere. Just wondering, is it noticeable the lack of people?

Wow Mac I am hoping for your sake that Jesse was a woman otherwise between this and the Elton John play by play we might need to get the burrito horn out and dust it off.

Did Jesse tell you about Antonio Alphonseco not being born with 12 fingers as he massaged you?

No, he sang the praises of Big Buff, while massaging Mac in the buff.
Boy, I'm glad I ate dinner hours ago.

To Mac or anyone else seeking sushi out here, try Social House at Treasure Island. The exec chef was hired away from Nobu and he brought over a few of his assistant chefs. The guys are raw fish magicians.
