I hear Anne Maxfield is available.

Honestly, I don't know how realistic it is, but I would suggest Goff as the producer. Having Matty AND Goff on the same show is stacking it... spread the love.

And I think Goff would offset Mackey perfectly, and would be a good go to guy when the chatter gets facebookish.

Oh yeah, and count me as one who thinks adding Jurko when he contract is up (before?) would be a good idea. Maybe even make it an incentive laden contract so you can get him on his game all day every day.

I thought I read somewhere it's going to be Matt Spiegel...Mac didn't go as far as naming his new co-host, but that'll be official come Friday during "B & B's Bud Light Tavern Tour" stop at Bennigan's at 150 S. Michigan.

Did I hear wrong today, or did Mac say something like, he's glad he no longer has to try to drag complete sentences out of former athletes while on the air? I very well could have heard that wrong, as I thought Mac and Jurko got along. But that's what it sounded like...

No. Goff needs to stay with Bernstein. He's way funnier paired with those guys and it would be way less crowded without all 4 together talking. Drinky and Mac obviously have a good thing going and he'll move over to Mac's show leaving Goff with B&B. LoHo will be a Bears beat reporter and weekend guy again for both shows but will have more interaction than before when he had the same gig. It will be great for both shows. Really though one of the two needs to move to the Mac show. 4 in the booth on B&B is way too much. Too much fighting for mic time and talking over each other.

Talk lots of politics.
Find a waitress at your local steakhouse to be your new producer.

Agreed. It is a perfect opportunity to have a clean break. Dan would be well advised to get a younger co host. I think it really adds a nice dimension to B and B.

From looking up his profile on here, it appears that he has not posted here in just about a year.

Is the Friday show at the Bennigan's on Michigan... and to break into my best Shark impersonation... the Chicago outlet of the popular pub chain where M Jeff and Juanita went on their first date.

I might stop by if I'm in the area.

If Meatpants gets the gig with Mac, will he be able to appear on B&B as Urethra Franklin?

This will probably get me in trouble with the ALS, but here goes nothing. And yes, I know this is only sports talk radio and doesn't mean squat in the grand scheme o' things, but still, that's why we're here, right?

Mac should make sure he works with people he handpicked and weren't recommended by others like Harry was. That way, when I invest time and effort to listen, I won't feel like I'm listening to guys punching a clock, which is how the end of MJH sounded at times. As much as Mac says he liked Harry (or used to) as a person, the chemistry or lack thereof on air got to be uncomfortable to listen to. This is coming from someone who loves to give Harry crap.

I know busting balls goes with the territory in sports talk radio, but it got old. We get it. You don't like the guy. Work with people you do like and respect, Mac. If the rumors about Spiegel are true, that's a step in the right direction. Moving forward, resist the urge to dump on Harry. Be a bigger man and leave the headaches and accompanying cheapshots in the rearview. As da Coach once said, and so eloquently I might add, "The past is for cowards and losers." As someone who loved the MJH show, it's like hearing a divorced parent say something bad about the other parent. It leaves a dull ache in the stomach.

Last thing...

I'm not getting caught up in the "return to the Score nostalgia." To me, Mac's comments about how great it is to be back sound an awful lot like Jurko any time someone asked him who his favorite team to play for was.

Jurko's answer? The one that signed his check.

Call me cynical, but when The Danny Mac Show hits its 9th year, maybe then I'll wax nostalgic. Until then, please just entertain the masses. At least during the breaks on Waddle and Silvy...
