The title of the thread works on a couple levels.

Finally... a new era has arrived. I'm eager to get this thing rolling a week from tomorrow. In the meantime, I want to open a few threads to take on a few of the comments/issues expressed here about my new project as I return to the Score. There has been some erroneous reporting (Lewis Lazare in the Sun-Times, oddly enough) and I want to clear up a few things.

The focus of the new show will be sports. It should be. And it's White Sox-Cubs week when we plug it in next week. I am not going to be bashful, however, about giving some closure to my eight years at ESPN, the free agency process and a couple other items for which I have had no forum to express an opinion. I think you guys will like the radio stuff because you consume so much of it. If you liked "Private Parts" (the Howard Stern movie) you will enjoy my story of sitting down to have lunch with the real PigVomit, WGN program director Kevin Metheny.

This is going to be an interesting summer. There is more fallout ahead. By the time we get to 2010, the current landscape will look dramatically different. I'm embracing every bit of it. I am not afraid of Justin Craig's changing world. I welcome it.

Thanks for the time to spend here on the board, offering feedback on stuff that is important to me. The board is a valuable resource and I wish more in my business view it as that. I assure you Matt Spiegel does and he will be posting frequently here in the days ahead.

I'm going to listen to my old tapes of Murph during lunch just for nostalgia's sake. :) Unless I have sushi at lunch, in which case I will have a different sake.

But seriously, I can't wait to hear the story of your sit down with Kevin Metheny.

Here are some scenes with Paul Giamoni playing "Pig Vomit" in Private Parts. This is stuff Stern actually did. Pretty funny.

That pig vomit guy has turned WGN's weekend programming into one giant vomitorium. A lot of his hires are unlistenable and seem best suited for low-watt stations in farm towns. Some of the new people remind me of hosts I used to hear on car rides through the rural south.

That French guy was a very bizarre hire! That shit don't float in the midwest!
Try LA radio for "different".

My listening habits are about to change. I have listened to very little Sports Radio since all the changes at the SCORE. I will now be tuning in listening to Matt Spiegel and his sidekick,Danny Mac.

Looking foward to listening and participating via technology with the new show, Mac. Hopefully you, Meatpants, and the new boyquarium will continue to post here and keep using this board as a vital resource to your show.

And thanx again for those Sox tickets!

Obviously I think it is a great hire. The time slot is horrible for me. Rather than 5 hours of B and B, how about a little best of the two shows. Mitch always likes inexpenisve programming.

A podcast has limitations which we have discussed repeatedly on this site.

Limitations? I must have missed that discussion. Could you give me the Reader's Digest version?

Knowing Mac, I'm sure there will be some unpaid suspensions and rifts with management by Post 1340...(670 twice for the mathematically challenged :D ..)

Stunned that WGN even considered Mac. Doesn't exactly fit the mold there.

Tee em up Mac.

Nothing would give me greater joy than you taking the cane to Harry and the other sycophants at that station who have done nothing but taken thinly veiled potshots at you for the last couple of months.
