I was perusing Mac's bio on the Score's website, and I came across this paragraph:

Quote:
McNeil, 45, was an original cast member of "The Score," for which he served as an afternoon host until his resignation in October of 2000. During Danny Mac's nine-year run, he developed a reputation as a well connected, college and pro football addict whose feel for radio production separated him from the pack.

I thought Mac was older than 45. Not that it matters, but has Mac gotten vain on us???

If you're 45, Mac, I apologize. You don't look a day over 47...

Bio FAIL

Mac is either 47 or 48. I know he's 10 years older than I am and I just turned 38.

Mac's been Hollywood for many years now...doesn't surprise me that he's lying about his age.

Cue the Carly Simon tune, "You're So Vain."

What say you, Mac?

(He's probably getting Botox right now...)

Why is age even included in the bio?

I believe Mac was born in the Dominican Republic which in Jose Contreras years means he is actually 64.

Contreras is from Cuba, which makes him more like 70 years old.

Oops my bad. You are correct.

If he came from China, he would actually be like 12 - got my geographic locations confused. Where's Michael Jordan when I need him?

lol - I was thinking the same thing!

But with Michael having majored in Geographical something or other, quite naturally, I figured he could help out.

I thought he was born a poor black child. Remembering the days, sittin' on the porch with his family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi.

Could the bio I referenced be from the original Dan McNeil bio when the Score began lo these many years ago? Was he 45 back in 1992???

Yes. I'm a prick.

Just having some fun, Chicago!

Bio FAIL! - 2

Dan celebrates his 25th anniversary in Chicago radio in August and he’ll do it where it all began at 670 The Score!

Wrong. It will be 24 years.

Didn't it really begin at AM1000?

Excellent point, Doc. It didn't begin at the Score.

It started at WGN and then moved to the Loop-AM.

I don't think he did any on-air stuff at 'GN, did he? I remember listening to him at AM1000, though.

SHARK out.

Wait, I don't remember the Barney Rubble-looking Dan McNeil doing any on-air work back when Bob Collins used to play Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road and give out Big Orange t-shirts. I do remember him filling in for the Diet Coke-drinking Chet Coppock-looking Chet Coppock in the evenings during the late '80s / early '90s, however.

OK, now SHARK out.

Why not just write October 2000 rather than October of 2000?

Or omit the month completely since it adds absolutely no value to the reader.

They could probably ditch the commas in the second sentence, too.

bio will be fixed early next week. i saw it and it's on my list... just not real high up. it appears we took a good chunk of the bio from the other joint's website, which was also dated. i'll be 48 in august.

He interned for the Swirsk at WGN after stalking him for several months. He also did on-air interview with a Saskatchewan radio station talking about the '85 Bears, as he was from the flagship station. Little did they know he was Swirsk's Mr. Coffee.

Then AM1000 manning the boyquarium with Chet Coppock (and being the butt of many Steve Dahl jokes)

Then WSCR

Then AM1000 again

Then WSCR again

Next stop WGN I guess....

Yeah, Dahl & Meier used to call him Rusty Jones.
