Actually, I thought Rusty was pretty brutal back then. His best contribution was being fodder for Dahl & Meier. I liked it when Dahl accused Mac of clipping his toenails in the studio, and eating his Wheat Thins. They also described young Mackey of being "one of those guys that smokes while he eats".

The day Dahl left the Voice modulator on and Chet started his show was classic.

I have a recording of Dahl & Meier barging in on Chet's show. Apparently, Chet had been doing it to them, and they decided to turn the tables. Coppock went apopleptic, and said the difference between him and them was he admitted he was a gimmick. They likened him to a Clapper or a Chia Pet. That was without a doubt the best stretch of Chicago radio ever. I miss it.

In all honesty, I despised Mac on Chet's show...and Dahl making fun of Chet's boyquarium has hillarious. He and Meier created a fake intro to the Chet show that still makes me laugh when I remember it...something about "guys who care entirely too much about sports". Who knew way back then that I would become one of those guys, and so would Dahl.

Both Dahl & Meier have become a lot of the things that they used to despise.

No better example of that than Dahl playing golf and writing about it.

Well, as long as you brought it up...............We Americans, when we are playing hockey, wear a uniform shirt that usually includes a number. We Americans call it a "Jersey". In Canada it is called a "sweater" because that's what they are, thick fibered material needed to stay warm in Canadian winter.

So to recap:
Americans say huh?...... not eh?
Americans don't flood the ice, we Zamboni or resurface ice(or do ice).
And we say Jerseys, not sweater.

SunDevil, thanks for stoking my thoughtful side.

Hey Sundevil,

Isn't the Girl in your avatar one of Jack Brickhouses old hired "steamer" girls?
