Mac: enough with the 'you-don't-actually-want-to-be-famous' routine. I'd take being famous over being homeless, thanks. Being famous doesn't need all the lamentations you heap upon it as though it were leprosy, a broken leg, or even uncontrollable anal leakage from too much Olestra.

'Pants: enough with the 'oh-I-feel-dirty' routine. If it bugs you that much, either (a) take a real stand and make a demonstrative effort to not have it played, or (b) take the monitors off your ears, hum a happy tune, and juggle for the webcam while the call is being played.

That said, I'm not a hater. I enjoy the show just fine. But the frigging drama queens you two have been combined with the sanctimonious tone when dealing with this Erin Andrews deal just wears one's ass out.

Yeah, they (esp Meat 'the Ditka of Suck' Pants) are probably being all Lifetime-ish to try to score points with:

Agree with you being down and out is a bitch. How could anybody not? "Nobody suffers like the poor." -- Mickey Rourke as Henry Chenasky in "Barfly."

That said.... being a megastar like Jordan... Urlacher... even Erin Andrews... has its price. I'm standing by that. Thanks.

Post subject:  Re: Oh, cut the drama, the both of you.

Yes, being famous surely carries a price not payable monetarily ... it's just felt that the hand-wringing took a real problem and made it a less sympathetic point by overplaying it ... though I am willing to allow for the possibility that I'm being a sensitive-sally. Being a 63-year old curmudgeon at age 36 apparently has that affect.

That said, I get your take on the clearly unfortunate situation (to say the least, if not less), and the intelligent listener will as well. I just think the less astute can easily mistake your concern as expressed today (quantity moreso than quality) as too saccharin - and I reckon that it started chipping away at my assumption that you, as well as Meatpants, were sincere in your angst.

I'd prattle on more, but I have to go pass something ... hopefully not a stone or away. However, that's just my opinion; others may hope differently.

I felt sick when I heard it this morning on Mully and Hanley....but, that's because I'm currently under the weather and trying not to vomit.
Meatpants needs to relax a little about this, but feel free to ask Kerry Sayers about the stripper pole next time you see her.

Her breaking up at the end was rough to hear tho. I don't like it when woman cry.

Don, don't poop your soul!

Essentially, some jackoff papparazzi* were staked-out at her house and she called 911 dispatch asking for the fuzz to come by and gently escort the "assholes" (her word ... fine choice) somewhere else (preferably into a petrol fire).

Just a few short years ago Mac took his tampon and went home when STU called him a C list celebrity.

If somebody would like to join this and today's statements together for a nice Who You Crappin piece, feel free and I don't require attribution.

Regardless of their stance on the caller's point, how cool is it that they respond to CSFMB Board threads while still on the air?

I don't know of any hosts that do that in Chicago, so kudos to both Mac and Meat for being virtual and available to take input, good or bad, regarding the show immediately.

I think this goes to show you that they are pulling out all the stops to be updated and current with their views, thoughts and arguments.

I didn't take his reply as anything like that. I figured it was terse because (a) he was reponding to some joker on the board combined with (b) there's only a finite amount of time for him to do so between on-air segments.

Then again, I may also be a dumbass. I think there have been forums about that possibility previously, and surely a symposium on that topic in the near future. Not sure who will be on the dais.

Hey Mac,

Since you are checking this thread, there is a rumor/thought going around that your buddy Gloopan Kuratz might be ESPN 1000's very own Jurko.

I don't think so - I think he's just a tool (albeit a very funny one) that gets off on getting a rise out of you.

Your thoughts?

I'll hang up and listen for your post...

Yes !! And he didn't let me forget that remark for some time. I think I was hungover that day and on the muscle with him about something . But, I will admit it was good to get under his skin that day and Pretty much everytime Im with him I get under his skin but that's what I love about himand he likes about me . The Sox and Hawks game we went to was classic ball busting.

Here is what I am saying: Mac has said he wouldn't want the attention of a mega star on today's show when two years ago he was upset when he was dubbed a C lister. Stop making me thinking for both of us. It upsets the porn consuming portion of my brain.

On the Erin Andrews thing, I am just wondering if after she gets her money from this thing, and after what she has gone through with the latest thing, will she just quit ESPN and stay home.

She will have to deal with this where ever she goes when she comes back for college football.

And, like a kidney stone, this too will pass.

Really.

In no more than a year this will barely be mentioned except as a frat-boy punchline. In two years there will be 3 others with worse videos. In five years she'll be running for Governor of Alaska. In 50 years (or much, much sooner) I'm sure I will have bought the farm and will soon enough thereafter become worm shit and topsoil. In the year 2525, if man is still alive ... etc.

What is the matter with you? Why should she quit her career so young when she is the most popular Female in sports right now?

Well in all fairness, I don't think most people adjust to papparazzo and such well at first, i wouldn't have considered EA really a "celebrity" before this; now unfortunately sh'es famous, or rather INfamous..

Post subject:  Re: Oh, cut the drama, the both of you.

I thought it funny-cool that the 911 dispatcher lady had no fucking clue who EA was or that she was the center of a media fenzy.

And then Andrews is all "It's like I'm Britney Spears" Image

I'd say she doesn't do college football and that he employer gives her an in-studio gig for 6 months or even an outright sabbatical.

HOWEVER, given that people in her line of work have short shelf lives and her sell-by date is fast approaching, I'm guessing 30-something Erin will be out there doing her thing in a few weeks. She's probably afraid a younger, better looking woman will fill in for her and then she'll no longer be that girl.
