There has to be some resentment that you don't pick them to "fill-in" on your show. How do you handle them, Mac?

Does Mitch try to force these guys on you? Do you have full control?

I just find it odd that Mitch doesn't make you take Score guys. Especially since Mitch is desperately trying to find stuff for Larry to do. And you guys just signed Rosenbloom.

Not that I think any of these guys are great hosts. I'm just curious about how this works and if there is tension from them towards you over this. There has to be.

Larry kisses Terry's and Bernstein's ass. I'm sure you've noticed this, Mac. That's why he gets to host their show. Has he tried to suck up to you?

What do you think of Larry, Drinky and Goff?

I dont think there should be any "resenment" on any ones part.Mac's show and he should be allowed to pick any guest host he thinks will make for a good show.
I also dont think because you are a producer of a show that it makes you automatically a good "talker" or the right guy to do a talk show........See LoHo as an example of that.I dont think Goff or Matt have a future in front of a microphone tho if i had to choose one i would take Goff.

Goff is great radio. I look forward to late evenings on the deck with a Kettle One & Cohiba listeing to Jason with my pants at my ankles.

I really don't think guys behind the glass equate to great radio that often and as a fill guy or guys they are the B&B guys so why should Mac feel obligated to ask them to be on his show?. Goff and Drinky have their fans and Im sure they are good guys but I don't find either of them engaging on a sports or personailty level. The times I have caught them it's like a giggle fest with inside jokes .

I liked Finji when I was at the station a few years ago but the MJH crew seemed to force feed him to us and I really never thought he was a good listen as much as he was a great guy behind the glass.

I'm pretty sure that Goof &/or Drinky are better on air that one of Macs buddies or Teddy freaking Greenstein. Teddy is terrible on air. His good looks dont help him sound any better on the radio.

Again , Mac shouldn't feel obligated to ask another shows producers to be part of his show. I don't think Teddy's brings all that much either and what from I've been told from Slappy is that Vandy has had asperations of becoming an on air talent for many years and Mac feels Vandy has the talent to be showcased on his show. I've met Vandy a couple times and he seems to be a great guy but I don't have enough of his on air time to pass judgement if he's got the gift to be a host or not.

I've noticed in the past that in Drinky and Jason's case, they don't work during the week on air, unless it's to fill in on their own show. Basically, I assume there is an unwritten rule that your day job is producer and you can't do that and pick up air time during the week unless your air time falls after your show (I know they have done some Friday nights for example).

As for Larry, being back on the Bears beat has probably limited his ability to fill in. Plus for tonight, he's got his own 6-10 show to fill up.

Actually, LoHo started his show at 7p tonight due to "Bears All Access", Hawkeye. The Ranger holds court from the Jim Beam Club tomorrow at 6p following "Boers & Bernstein". Drinky is supposed to host a couple hours late tomorrow night at 11p following the Ranger's "Comcast Feedback Zone Postgame" after the White Sox/Indians' game at U.S. Cellular Field. The last time Drinky was supposed to be on, the John Clayton-sounding Matt Rodewald was pressed into service at the last minute. Speaking of "Rodie", has anyone noticed the porno-like mustache he's been sporting this week on NBC5's local version of "The Today Show"? :?

I think the host(s) should be allowed to pick who they are teamed with. I would like to hear Mac with drinky though, just to see.

Spaulding, I'm not sure it works that way, regardless if it's 670 The SCORE, ESPN Radio 1000, WBBM Newsradio 780, etc. I think there's something called chemistry between the show's host(s). That may explain in large part why Mike Murphy doesn't have an airshift these days on the SCORE...
