Post subject:  The Radiothon
Swung by on my way to work. I'll repeat what I posted earlier - what an odd fucking site for a radiothon/remote, especially if you want people to stop by. The hosts and Kerry [edit as I had no idea how she spells her name] Sayers were in a small room just off the clinic - with a handful of people working telephones (though there were not many calls coming in). Apparently additional phones were set up in another room.

Mac and Matt made the best of it, but everyone in that small room must have been boiling. Mitch was walking around, talking on his cell. Stewart's coffee out in the parking lot.

One of the receptionists actually closed the door saying it was too noisy for the patients in the clinic!

Yeah, I stopped by too. One real nice feature was that after I had my proctological exam they had STU-GOTZ run a hot towel across my taint and all around the brown eye. I left there clean as a whistle but STU the hot towel was nice but I don't think you had to shave me too...that must have been for you.

Not to say that "Finger Up the Butt" awareness day isn't a noble thing, but those pictures just make the whole endeavor look pitiful; too bad. Weird Al's UHF telethon looked far more enticing.

In a room that small, I hope later on TB doesn't turn feral.

And my apologies, it's been since the HFC days since I've been to a remote (quite literally - at Champps in Schaumburg - the guys were pissing on Dave Baum that day, Cleveland Mike was ranting into the microphone, the guy with no arms was there and Grobber was working the crowd). I honestly thought they were going to be set up in the parking lot, under a tent, with a lot of people hanging around. This was a little strange - sort of felt like they were doing a remote in the library reference section.
