Hate to be defensive, but I was wondering the same thing Jalapenos just posted. I think Spiegs and I are pretty open minded on the issue. We may giggle like high school freshmen along the way, but we both have good friends who are gay and, in my case, another one considering it.

This is one of the oddest & funniest comments I have ever heard/read. What guy talks to his buddies about the possibility of turning gay???

My response was to giggle... until I recognized he wasn't kidding. Hey, if it makes the cat happy, have at it. I knew he's always had a curiosity about it. I kinda suspect he's in a rut with the wife and was venting... the old "being gay would be so much easier" thing. Dahl used to crack me up with that shtick. I wonder what the deliberation process entails. It's fairly simple. Watch some gay porn. If you achieve a semi or greater, find a willing participant for a throwdown. Evaluate. If positive, (rinse?) and repeat. If negative, be more selective and try again. If negative again, maybe it's just curiosity and, well, just spank it for a while and reevaluate later.

The kind of guy who talks to his male friends about possibly being gay is a lucky man. He's got thoughtful and understanding friends who won't ditch him in a fit of gay panic, as many would, probably dropping a few epithets on the way out the door. It's all about finding whatever joy and happiness you can—so long as it doesn't harm others—in your brief time on this planet.

There's also the scene (different episode) where Peter and Quagmire are depicted sitting in separate easy chairs wearing smoking jackets surrounded by piles of money after one or the other has imagined what it would be like to be gay.
