I took a chunk of my "Ask" response on Terry's disposition and submit it for your approval:

Terry's going to do the roast... and I think he'll enjoy reminding me that "I wouldn't be doin' this is if I didn't let your dumbass talk me into it."

Well... maybe he's not "enjoying" anything, but he's on me for it, as I predicted. Whatever. Maybe I'll wind up at that Led Zeppelin tribute band at Horseshoe Casino afterall.

They say you purchased a whole table (8 people), so I'm guessing you will not be getting the Led out.....

All of you long timers know Terry is not wired to be a warm and fuzzy humanoid. He can be a real stubborn SOB too. Remember when he 'went Urlacher' on Mac (heavy fuel days) and said nothing for 4 hours cause he was pissed about something...?!? Not only did Mac drive the ship that day ... but he then gassed it up, washed it and put it away.

3PG got BnB roast ticket...

Mac - you are a more patient and understanding man than I am.

Terry pissed off and offended a great deal of even his most ardent fans today.

You came away looking genuine and a little bit hurt over the differences and perhaps the loss of a friendship.

With friends like that though Mac - best to just turn your back to them so they can find the place to put the knife easily.

Why do you sound more offended about this than Mac did today?

I really don't think Mac is overly concerned from how he appeared in this debate. It seems to me he is genuinely confused and hurt about being publicly slammed by a long time friend.

To react stronger and hold a grudge deeper than Mac will or will not hold is silly.

Part of it is nostalgic, part of it is probably hormonal. Loved Dan and Terry back in the day. Thought they were the best thing going on the Score. Have always been a big Dan McNeil fan (I know shocking) and it seemed pretty evident that Terry's behavior has caused a rift between the two.

I don't know - far be it for me to be one to overreact (attention whore), but it just bothered me.

What's Boers afraid of? I'm old enough to remember when the late Dean Martin did the "Celebrity Roasts" back in the late '70s and they were a hoot! Terry should just lighten up and enjoy moments like this...

Terry is just a weird weird weird guy, i really don't think there is anything else to it. I tend to think 90% of the feuds he gets in are based on his weirdness. He is the common denominator in all these on-air feuds at the station.

Why would this make anyone want to go?

One of the "honorees" has made a very public declaration that he wants no part of this and that he will "grudgingly" be there because he has no choice.

Yeah, sure, sign me up for a $75 ticket to pay tribute to this totally miserable misanthrope who, by the way, does a shitty job as a talk-show host as well with all his after-the-fact predictions, his stuttering and stammering, and his lazy-ass references to his phony peeps.

People, please, give the money to Haiti, not to see these immature radio "personalities" act like jackasses.

Been a B/B fan since day one and will continue to be one, but as much as I hate to say it, Terry came off bad today. I just don't get how someone cant say he didn't know that Mac had bought the table of 8, but yet, was told 4 times that was case. I don't take issue with Terry being private and saying he doesn't need friends, but he seems to hate everyone of late, that isn't healthy. All I know, if I hated dealing with people I don't know, the last job I would get would be in sports radio, its suppose to be fun, not this shit......by cracky

So you think this job description isn't any fun for Terry: Collecting 6 figures for sitting in your basement, listening to people with differing opinions hang up - and then calling them dopes?

I think being a greater at Wal-Mart for minimum wage would be a worse job for Terry.

Then why can't he lighten up and participate with at least SOME degree of graciousness in ONE EVENING when his employer, his fans, and his colleagues want to play nice with him and have a little fun?

Some people telling others to lighten up is kind of making me laugh. Next up is Aggravated Sox Fan Bob telling people to be patient with their baseball team.

It almost seems like an attempt by Terry for the roast to be a little lighter on him. Maybe he thinks people will go easier on him if they realize he's a sensitive caveman of the "teens" (or whatever we're calling this decade).

I don't think he cares about being roasted. He's just got a bug up his ass because the station uses guys like Greeenstein and Wolf as hosts, because they made him work another hour a day, and whatever other sundry complaints against management are on his list. He feels he's not respected as the elder statesman of the Score and conveniently forgets the millions he's made at the Score in all his years there, the fact that he can work from home, the fact that they seem to ignore the lazy, shitty host he's become, etc.

Post subject:  Re: Here ya go (on Terry's roastphobia)

It's really quite simple: Terry doesn't like human interaction.

For the Score's 10th Anniversary Show at the Hard Rock Cafe, not too many of the hosts had a problem mingling with the fans. Troglodyte Terry preferred to press the flesh with Dane Placko backstage.

I guess this goes along with the idea he was saying that he deserves the right to do it or not and he is being forced to do it. Good spin on it!
