Guys just mentioned that. I hope it's not true. I mentioned he sounded worse then usual a while back on this board. I will miss him!

I don't think they would play about that.

It wouldn't surprise me. He's been sick awhile. I remember him most from Les' show during his first go around.

I remember him from the Coppock Show. It seemed for awhile, the only callers on the show were Wild Bill & me. I also think he called into the old Jimmy Piersall Show on WIND.
I had the honor of being Jimmy's last caller (I'm happy 4 me!). My meatball question: "Should Thad Bosley be an everyday player?"

Anyway,RIP Wild Bill, you were one of my favorites!

I'm surprised Costanza hasn't jumped on to eulogise "Wild Bill" .... Don't know if the guy was a good caller as much as he was a frequent caller to all the shows. Never knew what he was saying and if he ever had a point but was entertaining.

50 feral cats in a room is entertaining...
a metal rake across a chalkboard is entertaining...

Well said.

Wild Bill was at his peak when the bar "Wild Bill's" (no relation) was bustling on Clark just north of Fullerton in 1989.

I wouldn't have banged her with Wild Bill's (RIP), Visanthe Shiancoe's, or Greg Oden's cock.

So, no, I don't think she was. As a wise man says, "That's why there's vanilla and that's why there's chocolate."

She was pretty hot before her voice became interchangable with a fog horn.

Wild Bill's march to victory in the first "Sports Jeopardy" competition on the HFC show is one of my favorite memories of the old WSCR. Great segment and WB yelling "BING! BING!" in his distinctive voice was entertaining.

He did win the whole thing that year, right?

He not only won, he won big. His opponent may as well not have been there for the finals.

Moment of silence for Wild Bill & Sports Jeopardy...

To me, Wild Bill was like Dick Vitale. No matter how infuriating either one could be at times, you can't help but respect their passion (I'm a meatball at heart). RIP, Wild Bill.

You are one of the better long time callers Ed but you always came off smarmy and contentious to me but that's what made you a good caller and you always call with a point . Wanted to say that before your dirt surfing one day .

"Are you threatening me?"

Also, for the record, I thought smarmy meant one thing but was surprised with its actual definition. Are you sure you meant smarmy? Kudos on spelling contentious right, though.
