Pierre's infield hits?

Sure he's 'only' had 106 and 117 hits the last two season but he only had 375 and 380 AB's. Given a full season he should be around the 180 hit mark.

If Juan Pierre is going to play any more than that the Sox are a 74 win team.

Not if the starting pitching performs as it can and should.

Right. When Mark Buehrle goes 15-13, Danks and Floyd alternate months of decency and months of raw suckage, and Peavy ends up on the DL by June, Juan Pierre patrolling the outfield and not getting on base will really be an asset.

The next time Jake Peavey goes onto the DL for arm trouble will be his first. Here in the AL, he doesn't have to run the bases which is how he got hurt last year.

And Pierre will be in left most of the time.

Which is exactly where you want an offensive juggernaut to be.

Housing prices exploded over the past ten years too.

Dumb...

They play in the AL central. The Royals and Indians are going to be terible this year.

Also neither Danks or Floyd have ever had periods of "raw suckage". I bet Danks has a huge year this year.

If your going to talk shit then at least know what you are talking about

And Jay Cutler threw some interceptions. What else you got? Danks and Floyd have been inconsistent (as any young pitcher will be), but Danks also finished 2008 with an ERA in the low 3's (3.2something I think?). To do that, you cannot possibly have a month of "raw suckage." The Sox starters alone could end up with 65 or 70 wins easily.

Paul Konerko's triples + SB's vs number of time Jeff Samardzija is sent to the minors.

The above comment was meant to be in the other thread, in regards to all the booming sports radio stations over the past 10 years.

Also, both had months of pure raw suckage last year. They finished a combined two games over .500, and the offense was unquestionably better. The defense was probably better too. But keep clinging to raw hope.

PSA: so will the Sox

Don't make me get the numbers. I believe each had months over 6.00 last year.

Floyd had something like a 9.00 in April. This made his recovery the rest of the season all the more remarkable. I'd be shocked if Danks had a month in the 5s.

Try again.

In May 2008 he went on the DL with elbow issues.

I don't like this because Marmol could be demoted by May and win by default.

Buerhle's longest winless streak vs. the Cubs longest losing streak.

Should both be around 8 or 9

You should have gone with AJ vs Big Dumbass, Frank.

I thought it was a good bet. Both guys coming off subpar years. Peavy switching leagues and Soto going on the Jose Contreras diet...lots of question marks there

Not enough track history. Soto is only in his 3rd year and Peavy is on a new team. Here are AJ and Z's numbers since '05:

AJ HR's- 18, 16, 14, 13, 13

Z wins- 14, 16, 18, 14, 9

I wish that I could find that bet in a book somewhere. I would pound 'Z wins'.

AJ, push, Z, Z, AJ.

You'd really like 'Z wins' that much?
