He was a weekly staple on the Murph show and it's great to hear him back on the Score (and actually able to talk without being interrupted). This guy REALLY knows his stuff. My favorite part of the interview is when he said he doesn't think steroid use is down in baseball. He also said you can't judge the Sox minor league system like others because it's no secret that Kenny's not afraid to trade prospects for veterans. :wink:

Good work, Men!

edit- He also compared Starlin Castro to Derek Jeter. :shock:

He does know his stuff.

But Im wondering if Steroid use/HGH use is still rampant, where are all the 55 HR 150 RBI seasons?

I still think a ton do HGH but I think it has to have lessened.

Right?

I was a little surprised by that comparison too, SR. I've read quite a few comparisons to Edgar Renteria, which is nice because he was a hell of a player in his prime but Derek Jeter? Jim is stepping out a bit with that one.

SR28 I understand your position. Comparing anyone to Derek Sanderson Jeter is jarring to the soul and ridiculous. But one must look to the GOLD STANDARD if one seeks true greatness.

Rogers Park Bryan:

While I certainly appreciate your enthusiasm, and general sense of excellence, I must point out that only one (1) baseball player is entitled to:

1. Bold letters;
2. Underlining;
3. Italics; AND
4. Large font.

THAT player is not Derek Sanderson Jeter (to whom I have awarded bold print, underlining and italics, but not yet large font). THAT player was chosen by The Lord Almighty as His perfect player, and THAT player won seven (7) World Series Titles. We will revisit this issue again in a few years.

Until that time, thank you for attention to this matter.

Possibly he meant Castro's a guy who likes to slap it to the right side, has no range to the hole, and a mediocre arm.

Maybe Calis meant that Castro has a huge cock that he sticks in top notch snafu
