Harry, Carmen and Jurko are able to swing a deal to go to Ireland on Jameson for St. Patrick's Day. Meanwhile the competitor with the better ratings and the Irish last name is sitting at home. It seems like someone in the Score's promotional department needs to do his job a lot better. |

Let them stay in Ireland. Who cares? |

They might as well do the show from Harry's closet. Guests? None expected. Covering an event? No. Broadcasting at an odd time in Ireland. Oh, yeah. Keep it. |

Message to ESPN 1000, since Mac left BOers and Bernstein have most if not all the folks here punched in to 670 all day. I put Hcj on the other day and I have one word to describe it ...UNLISTENABLE |

What benefit does being in Ireland provide them? It's radio. They could be downtown Chi, and tell everyone they are in Ireland and no one would know the difference. |

If Jameson's is footing the entire bill in exchange for promotion, good for everyone involved. I can't imagine ESPN would commit one dollar to this beyond per diem. |

2pm in Chicago is 8pm in Ireland. I, for one, will not be listening. |

Bucky Chris wrote: What benefit does being in Ireland provide them? . A free trip to Ireland. They could be broadcasting from my kitchen and I wouldn't listen, but it Jameson's is looking to throw some money around the Chicago market, I would think there would be several people at the Score who would be happy with the free trip. |

Face it, Jim Pastor probably stroked and polished many a shillelagh to make this trip happen. Never underestimate the four letters known as ESPN - for better or worse. |

I don't listen to the Afternoon Saloon, but I listen to Silvy and Waddle. S&W get the guests. Babcock this morning from the airport on his way to Denver. They had Peavy last week. Patrick Kane from Vancouver during the Olympics. and on and on. The ESPN mothership serves them well in that regard. |

Will the C, J & H show suddenly be better because they are in Ireland? |

When does Monsters and Money do the show from Wall Street? |

WSCR got better with the addition of Mac. If Mac was still at ESPN1000, WSCR would still be marginal at best after 9AM imho. If Chicago radio gives an award for 'best radio executive', I think Jim Pastor has been WSCR's MVP since 2009 began. ESPN1000 is still listenable radio though, and provide much better baseball insight from Bruce Levine. They both run way too many commercials though. |

When the competition is ZZ and Hub, the Saloon in Ireland (or anywhere, for that matter) becomes appointment radio. |

They got the WFAN morning guys in Ireland too. Why do I need Boomer Esiason (a) at all, (b) in Ireland? BTW, tastes differ, but wfan sucks. Modeled after espn-style bland. |
