I just got a kindle, I go to look for Mac's book, and I see it's available for the kindle.
$9.99

then i look at the paperback $5.98!?! wha happen?

Don't feel bad though, Chet and North's book aren't even available in that format.
plus you're ranked over 100k spots ahead of chet, and almost a cool "million" over North.

you can thank amazon for the 9.99 price. and i mean that too, because if they lose their battle theyre in (and they are) the price for all kindle books will be at least $15. the publishers are threatening to pull all of their books off kindle because amazon wont budge on the 9.99 price. amazon says 9.99 is already too high, and the publishers are crying its at least 50% too low. amazon does argue that paperback versions sell for much less, and the response is the kindle's convenience is worth the extra money. clearly, its about the publishers trying to gouge, and amazon fighting for the customer (and their kindle of course)

AMAZON: Good deals can be found. Just picked up last years version of Knight Rider for $21.88. Would not know anything about books. Words make my brain hurt.

No doubt, I wasn't questioning the amazon price, It was more like why is mac's book so cheap?
The thing I love about the kindle is that you can get basically any e-book format and convert it into kindle format.
