This morning Mac was waxing about his reason for his Kustok hate, he said she is in the #3 market in the country & if she isn't ready she shouldn't be on. My question for the board using this logic, should Spiegel be his co-host?

Kind of the way I feel about Mac. We deserve better than a lazy, self-absorbed host.

The entire Comcast thing is a training ground. They dont pay much and thats what they get.

Spiegs deserves his shot, he does a fluent, good job and knows of what he speaks.

My only problem with him is 'It's up on the facebook page if you want to look, read, enter, play along"

Maybe some of us dont want to be on Facebook?

How about a Danny Mac Show page on the very website of the station the radio show is on!!!!!

Good point. His criticisms are not unfounded at all it's just the juvenile way he goes on about attacking her that rubs me the wrong way.

Speigs is fine and I am not quite sure why there is so much hate for him on here. He has gotten a lot better, good baseball talk and he has a good back and forth with Mac...what's the big fucking deal here? He also has some fire and passion when dealing with Bernsie and his parrot.

The way he goes after Kustok, it's almost like it's personal. Maybe he thinks he's taking revenge on behalf of fair lady Sayers or something, but it's really rather ridiculous when you consider all the less than professional goofs in the Hooterville media.

Yeah. He likes to blow Sayers for a bit after he gets done hurling childish and unnecessary insults at Kustok. Does Mac think he is going to get some "ya ya" behind the glass during break or something? What skin does he have in the Comcast game?

Well, he did call a Comcast exec a bitch and got that suspension. But I don't even think she's there anymore.

He said something along the lines of 'her picture is next to the word bitch in the dictionary.' I thought it was hilarious. The mouse, apparently, did not.

Kerry was 10 times better on Comcast than toothy is. Bill Melton on the Sox and Pat Boyle on the Bears postgame is about the only thing worthwhile on that station. Pleasac was great too, but he's moved onto bigger and better things.

No. And Mac should be gone as well. The 2 of them should be in Des Moines or somewhere.

I'm not in Chicago anymore.

I do really like Sirius NFL radio. There are no "I don't give a shit" clunkers working there.

Gloop

I do agree, NFL radio is pretty damn good, too footbally for a full day listen in the offseason though.

Ironically, the guy who missed with Mac is the guy from WGN who claims he wants to change the station's persona and seem more hip. Mac's A-holio segment might be so controversal on that station he might have served 2 suspensions by now with the letters they would have got.

As I end up listening to more WGN now as it might be on in the morning from the previous night Cubs game and the callers are the same 60 year old ladies sitting at home that think they won the lottery when they win 2 tickets to a shitty Cubs game in April in the 500 level.

The Wolves play in Chicago.

Comcast is on in Chicago, but it is pure minor leagues. I wouldn't even put it a full step above local access.

BF, there are over 400 million people on Facebook. It's not exactly an unchartered territory. Some people still don't use the internet... should Mac & Speigs do something special for them too?

She's not very good...that's why she gets pounded. Anyone who used to watch her sideline announcing at the high school football championships would know this...pre comcast.

Seriously, where do you hear a radio show that has such little effort put into it? Just mailing it in. The only one I can think of was maybe Dahl or Lujack at the end. Mackey seems to think that this is part of his appeal.

If you listen to ANYTHING - sports, politics, NFLN at least they try.

But that's not just Mac. That seems to be the "Chicago style" as popularized by Mike North and Steve Dahl. You just roll into the studio hungover and start spouting bullshit. "Show prep" is reading the newspapers so you can regurgitate the articles and take calls on them. I'll grant you that Mac should know better because he learned the game at Chet's knee. And say what you will about Coppock, you can mock his go-to guests like Bert Sugar or whatever, the man put on a professional radio show that sounded like someone actually made an effort.

He probably got his fill of suckholing Jack Brickhouse and Bert Sugar when he worked for Chet.

I know of one, but I wouldn't want to self incriminate. :eye:

Maybe I haven't seen or heard enough of Sarah Kustok, but I don't get all of the hate. From what I've seen of her, she does fairly well...just not great. The teethy thing doesn't really bother me that much; better than looking at myself in the mirror.

Does anybody have any links or anything written that can be printed verbatim of her bad work?

She asks some weird questions after Hawks games. Still, I don't think she's ever done anything to warrant the vitriol Mac spews at her.
