LOL????

Honestly, I would love to go to Philly, but walking in wearing a Hawks jersey in Wachovia Spectrum, might need security in numbers!

Oh, plus I think tickets are in the $1000+++ and up range. The hotel and plan are like $279, never been to philly.

Are you allowed to go in armed? Because that may be the only way to set foot in Philly while wearing the opposing team's logo.

Anyone want to borrow my XXXL Eagles McNabb jersey (courtesy of SSE) or my XL Westbrook jersey, let me know. Might keep you safe, even though neither player still is with the Eagles.

I'm thinking about it too. Might be able to make it over for the remote, but don't think I'll head to the game.

I've written it before, but Philadelphia is an underrated city. There is a ton of history, good cultural exhibits, unique food opportunities, interesting architecture, etc. I wouldn't say it's a great walking around city as things are spread out a bit, but it is a really solid trip for 2-3 days.

The people are fine. They believe their reputation sometimes kind of like blue collar, chicago tough superfans do sometimes. Take them out of that element and the people are pretty good. They have a New York/New England inferiority complex.

Fly to Baltimore and have your driver(STU) take an AMTRAK to meet you there and drive you the rest of the way.

i think flyers fans are more happy just to be in the cup finals and there isn't a sense of entitlement like there was in '97. i wouldn't think a blackhawks fan would have that much of a problem unless they're in a section of total DB's...which can happen in any professional stadium.

Stu did offer to drive from Chicago to Philly but I'm not about to spend 11 hours in a car with him. This is the same guy who has no ticket to the game and no hotel room but offering to go with me . NO THANKS !! I see planes, trains and automobiles in this trip with him .

Seconded. I was just in Philadelphia for a work convention two months ago. Stayed at the Marriott downtown near the old city hall. Traffic was about the same as Chicago, except for this one backasswards four lane expressway, which is the main road leading into city from the west, that runs along one of those rivers (Schuylkill?) and was backed up night and day no matter time I was on it. Tons of American history all around. I visited Valley Forge, Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, and some church which I think was frequented by many of the founding fathers. Most of that stuff is downtown so don't plan on driving. Valley Forge is out in the burbs. Went to a couple bars and mentioned I was from Chicago and everyone was friendly. The one regret I have is not doing the Rocky run up the steps at the art museum.

If comfort and cleanliness is not high on the priority list, Greyhound would be by far the cheapest way to go.

I never thought that Greyhounds are as bad as people make them.

Of course most of the time I was taking them on the way to and from big Phish shows, lets just say I often was very relaxed on the way back.

I took the Greyhound from Memphis to Chicago and back to Memphis once.
Cheap way to travel. Not so bad if you only have to travel one day that way
I guess. Only bad part was all the stops that have to be made along the way
for others to get off and catch other buses. Easily adds a few hours onto an
already long trip. When you are in college you can easily look past some of
these inconveniences in order to get home on your own dime.

If the Hawks win tonight I'm going, but no way in hell am I going to some stupid remote to see Mac and that cocksucker Edzo.

I'll take the couple hours of free time I'll have to see some of the sights and then head over to the game.

If the Hawks win tonight, you will see more Hawks fans there Friday. Tonight it's probably 95-5 Flyers fans, Hawks win Firday it's probably 80-20 Flyers.
