Mike Nort has convinced Mitch Rosen to hire him to take over the 9 am-1 pm shift solo so he can talk about a wide variety of subjects rather than just sports. He will be providing listerners with his expert analysis of everything from race relations ("Blacks commit more crimes den whites. I'm not sayin'. I'm jus' sayin'.") to television ("Hey Jen, when dahz da new season of Ahnnerahge start.") to music ("Lemme tell ya sumthin'. Connie Francis belongs in da Hall of Fame a lot more dan dese Metallica goofs.") to local politics ("Daley da First was da best mare. He built dem skyscrapers and kept da shines in dere place. Dis Daley is good too. He keeps da city clean and he got my nephew a job wit da Park Districk. Only ting is dese Hispanics is takin' over."). Of course, he will also include his brilliant insights on sports (I ain't sure who was da best back ever. It's a tough call between Gale an Walter but I know one ting- Jim Brown ain't even in da pitcher.") and gambling ("It's better to bet a short-priced winner dan a longshot loser. Well, it's not going to be the break up of B&B, changing their slot or firing Boers...at least not right now. Maybe that will come on Labor day as the great Jim O'Donnell reported before B&B got him fired.  Boers is in a good mood today. If something were happening to him he'd be all pissy today. Plus if something were happening to the B&B show they would tell their audience that they had an announcement like Mac did. So it's probably just announcing that "Mac and Spiegs" got new deals. Maybe this time it's longer than the one-year deal they initially got. |

I can't see it being contracts, because they are on 1 year deals, due to the recession, don't think that would change right now. It could be the contracts, they did talk about today about doing something around next year's July 4th. I would say if it's a time change, I think that would be reported in the newspapers. So it is probably a trip to somewhere or a guest for football season. If it's one of these two, these are usually duds when they say major announcements. A trip where 1 person can win or a guest that your tired of hearing after a couple of weeks. |

Here's a thought. Maybe they eliminate the rerun of Dan Patrick at night and bump everybody up an hour. This way Mitch can find something for Larry to do when the Sox are playing. The SCORE can finally becom 24/7 local programming. It also eliminates the pointless half hour of Larry filler time after B&B when the Sox play. Grobber: 2am -6 Mully & Hanley: 6-10 Danny Mac: 10-2 B&B: 2-7 (Or until Sox pre game) Sox and other games: 7-10 or 11 Larry - when ever games/post game shows are over - 2am |
