Never loved the concept of this game and I hate to say it, but it is a little like Norths 1,2,3, of just picking something that nobody knows about. Going 3-0 is tough and being booted because you went 2-1 after 1 week for a 5-1 record? I would LOVE to hear that guys picks that is 5-1! Some sort of contest that has a ton of entries , yes 200- 300 entries! And as they fail, they get cut down. |

Don't hate the segment, just needs to be expanded. Yes it might require SHEP or someone to do some work of tracking picks, but a better contest on the same premise needs to be developed. Maybe after week 4, Bottom 10% gets booted and so on. Making the contest easier to track. ahhhh...Maybe next year. |

Always enjoyed critics, but I think it would be kind of cool for a "personality" or 'Character" to evolve from this? Plus I would love his tips! |

the segment never will please everybody because not everybody gambles. three players and two hosts do 15 picks collectively. that gives those who play some indication as to how people are moving and why. more listener involvement, while getting more actual contestants involved (a positive) dilutes it too much. i've cut handicapping segments up over the years and it's tough to find a "perfect" mix. this comes the closest. isn't too long. doesn't give random callers the opportunity to spew nonsense (my wife used to love bama brian picking the tide -1,000,000 points... i thought it was dumb). and there's a prize. also gets people who don't "play" a chance to hear thoughts on marquee games and matchups heading into football weekend. it's 5 or 6 minutes of the week. it's not really significant enough a part of show culture to split hairs over it, but .... that's what message boards are for, i guess. too many contests? wtf show are you listening to? |
