I love my new business card! Thanks, borogue17. I don't expect bashing ESPN to be popular with everybody. But... I really don't care. Yeah, they paid me well... the result of taking the AM1000 frequency off of life support. When I got there, ESPN was billing about $4 million a year in advertising dollars. In three years, they were billing about $15 million. It's accurate to say there were tremendous upsides for both parties. Ever been suspended from your job and not have a boss go to bat for you? Try to make your life uncomfortable by not returning your phone calls and making you sweat through a holiday not knowing if you had a job or not? If you were a productive employee and also provided a strong leadership model.... then got fired.... are you going to tell me you wouldn't love sticking it up that place's ass by kicking their ass with their direct competition? Let me say it again: I'm grateful for the eight years at ESPN. They paid me well and gave me a lot of power. But Jim Pastor and Justin Craig were overmatched by the positions they held and their records prove it. Pastor's signature included these key moves: 1) losing the White Sox the year following their World Series. 2) The Salisbury/Rosenbloom disaster. 3) Breaking up MJH, the show with the most drive time ratings dominance (six No.1 finishes) than any other in this town. Don't just take my word for it. Ask any -- and I mean any -- ESPN employee about Pastor and Craig and they will paint a picture of two of the most inept, impersonable, disagreeable sacks of shit they've ever worked for. If I'm a little giddy over seeing them dive to the bottom.... forgive me. Paybacks are fun. I hope you have the opportunity to experience it some day. It's quite rewarding. Pastor and Craig deserve every bad word they get. They proved they couldn't handle prosperity. They had the Score on the ropes and let 'em up. These are good times. |

I see your point. It still just sounds petty, in my opinion, to the average listener. You should summarize your post on air a few times so people can get the whole story. I guess I prefer that you just keep making fun of Harry, those days/months after he got wasted, embarrassed himself, peed himself (two separate things) and was kicked out of the White Sox locker room were priceless. I would truly love to know what really happened with Harry on that fateful night. Even Teddy Ballgame couldn't get the whole story. |

I think it's great theater. I also love it when B&B take on others just for the show of it all. |

At best someone can say they feel sorry for an ex employer/boss heading downward and not outwardly enjoy it, but to try and tell anyone that a place that may have fired you, demoted you, etc is sinking and you don't get wood from that, you are a big fat stinking liar! Whether you tell a few friends, or mention it on your radio show is another thing. Mac, go for it, slam ESPN to the ground, I enjoy it. |

I agree with you Mac.I loved it when I saw all the Hollywood Video stores closing up.All the morons I used to work for now having no way out.For me it was just a pt gig but for them it was not.So what you think of them giving Harry another 3 years. They chose him over you just shows what inept bastards they really are. |

Quite to the contrary, I'm quite certain it was addressed as appropriately as it should have been, minus actually seeing them give you the finger. |

Put me as one that likes the bashing. I wonder if the holiday Mac was talking about where he had to sweat if he had a job was the on-air fight with Harry and Cory Mcferrin was in with them, because that was around Memorial Day. |

I guess we all listen to sports talk radio for different reasons. If you want to listen to Waddle, Silvy, Mully, or Hanley break down Bears tape for 6 hours, go with God. I tend to listen for the edginess. There's alot about B&B that I don't like, but when they go off on a dumbass Telander or Morrissey column, count me in. Or when Terry takes shots at Sherman, O'Donnell, Coppock, North, etc. Let's face it, every show talks about the sports pretty much the same. It's the little tidbits of angst and insider sniping that make it interesting. But that's just me. |

Dude PTFB then if you don't like what's being said. Get so sick of all these guys that hate the shows but never stop listening to the shows. This isn't just about Mac, there are a few guys that do this with B&B and LoHo too. If you don't like what you hear go away. Just because you think it's low rent for Mac to do this doesn't mean you're right or that other people shouldn't listen. Mac has the right to handle this however he wants and we have a right to listen. If you don't like it fuck you and the high horse you rode in on. |

I only casually heard the "rant." Do I deduce correctly that Mac sought out and was granted permission by his current boss to engage in that over-the-top embarrassment (all of the "code red" talk)? |

W_Z wrote: edward, MOFO was stating one of his few opinions. he has a right to that, too. He can express his opinion but I disagree with his desire to want to squelch the things that Mac says. A lot of readers and listeners like to hear Mac fire on ESPN. By stating his preference for some sort of high road MOFO wants to kill my fun, I like hearing venom being spewed. So by stating his opinion he implied that it was wrong (and if something it wrong you usually shouldn't do it) for Mac to tap dance as ESPN goes down. I took more umbrage with the implication of censorship and this mythical high road to which MOFO alludes. You can have your opinion and that's fine, here's mine, your holier than thou attitude is bs. If this is how Mac wants to deal with what happened at ESPN that's his right; however you have no right to tell someone how they should deal with their situtation. If this make me a mouth-breathing sycophant, oh well. Pardon me for thinking that it's ok to tell people how you really feel. MOFO keep your high road, for me there is dignity in telling what really happened and/or how you really feel. |

As the saying goes, Karma is a bitch. I am far from a member of the Danny Mac ALS but I wholeheartedly agree with his post. When those that have screwed you over in the past encounter their own comeuppance, it is definitely a time for celebration. F#ck being a good winner, kick the bastards when they're down. |
