I am so sick of the Lovie Smith hate. He has an ego, imagine that. He is the head coach at the highest level in the one of the best cities and for a storied football franchise. So he has the right to be smug. Besides, the media treats him like crap because he doesn't show emotion or provide Ditka like quotes. I'll take his even keel approach. Lovie is probably having his best ever season as a head coach in terms of adjustments, personel decisions, and challenges actually. They could dominate the playoffs, win the Super Bowl, and lot of you dumb motherfuckers would still be bitching. How about just enjoy the ride?

I am not a Lovie Smith fan overall, but I have to give him and his staff a LOT of credit for getting this team to where they are now.



Also, maybe a little love for Mike Tice? To say this is a patchwork OLine is really over stating it. Since the Giants game, outside of a couple of series against the Eagles, overall this OLine has been fairly solid.

Just for the record, I think Lovie is a good coach and they've done a nice job this season of putting together a decent team. There are a lot of "good" teams that have luck. I'd be willing to say that 99% of all 10+ win teams end up playing a couple of really shitty teams during the year. Every team deals with injuries. It happens, and the teams that end up making the playoffs take advantage of those breaks. For the most part, the Bears have.

Every fucking team needs either luck or cheating (I'm looking at you 2001 Patriots) to win a Super Bowl. Whether that luck happens to be no one getting hurt or having the good fortune to face 3 or 4 3rd string QBs in a year, it is luck. The Bears have been able to capitalize on those chances this year. This is a good thing, and I will give the entire coaching staff the credit to have made the proper adjustments (Tice) and sucking up their personal arrogant pride (Martz). Having these two around have allowed Lovie to focus on what he's better at (defense), and it's worked.

Enjoy it, and if not, stop fucking harshing our mellow.

Agree on all counts.....watching NFL games each week, lots of luck is involved. Ref calls, bounces of the ball, missed tackles, other teams' injuries/mistakes, coaches' gaffes (Reid not challenging last week), etc. That is the state of the parity plagued NFL.
