His voice was destroyed by singing so they had to call in Jason Goff.

3 days off now? This has all the makings of him skipping hit and run 3 out of every 4 weeks like last year.

He went into work. He talked on air for a few minutes. I think he was sent home though because he sounded bad on the radio with his voice.

Was he at least there long enough to explain his choice to become one of the crappiest bands of all time?

No. spanky didn't knock it out of the park, but it wasn't a swing and a miss either. It was a solid liner to the gap.

I'd have said Dave Matthews Band, but Radiohead is an acceptable answer.

I cant believe this is being swept under the rug for a Ugie-BifFan fight

This is HUGE

Goff seems to be getting really comfy co-hosting mid days. Just sayin'.

Not much to say about it. He was there but (his voice) sounded like crap. They made the right decision not putting him on. If you want to have the argument of which job is more important/consider weekend only stuff, then maybe I could see it.

With Goff pressed into service co-hosting "The Mac Show" and with LoHo en route to Syracuse with ZZ to call another DePaul loss on The SCORE tomorrow, who pinch hits at 6p tonight? Finfer? Drinky? Anyone, anyone? Bueller?

Well yeah, I definitely think he's making terrible career decisons

I meant huge like the board giving him shit for it.

But yes I believe missing two days, (one a rare oppurtunity to host the prime slot) to sing in a cover band is a TERRIBLE decision.

Seriously, people who work where they cant listen to the radio, like me, hear the Mac show maybe 2,3 times a year

That was a GOLDEN oppurtunity to impress a new audience.

Just awful

Even if the band was the #1 cover band in the world....the radio gig is still better.

Goff & Mac sound great together. Its a much better show with Jason rather than Spiegs. Anyone with ears can hear this. Hopefully Mitch Rosen is listening.

Meat's deal is up in June also. Mac needs the gig and will throw Meat under the bus so he can get a new deal.

This show is lazy, juvenile and lame.

I'll preface this by saying I'm a long time fan of Meat's work. BUT...

When he and Mac were joking about the return of Mac to "afternoon" he kept saying that he couldn't do that because of a sound check for the gig that night. Meat, I say this with love, and as somebody who has some experience with the whole band thing. Really? REALLY? You're a freaking vocalist. You're portion of the sound check consists of "Ok, I can hear myself in the monitor now" You don't need a day off from hosting DRIVE TIME RADIO to do a sound check.

And this is starting to concern me about the "day off after gigs" thing that has stretched into the rest of the week this time. Meat, seriously man. Have you seen an ENT? Cause if your chords are that cashed after a Tributo set that you can't vocally manage to yap about sports for 4 hours the next day then you really need to have somebody take a look at the old throat. Again, speaking from (not on nearly the same level) the point of view as somebody who's been there / done that. Back during those years we did 2 full sets on Saturday night, and then I had to get up and do it again for praise band at church. 8 hours after we left the stage. Never had an issue. I'm saying that out of concern for your voice and your (obvious) personal musical aspirations. See somebody and make sure your chords are OK.
