It seems that a lot of those on the board are in bands. Why not a show with Meat and his band and A BATTLE OF THE BANDS with the bands of his listeners and board members? I know Doug is in a band and I think Frank and some others. It might be a great night to showcase all the talent and have a lot of fun for everyone. I do think one of the reasons many people like Mac's show is because of the music discussions and this would be a good thing to have participation from the audience with the hosts and get exposure for the bands. I might even go to an event like this. |

A genuinely awful idea. If music is played, it should be by Matts band. They/he actually produced some songs listeners have become familiar with from the show. Hearing awful garage caliber hacks would only motivate people to leave the celebration. Awful suggestion. |

They could even have the slogan for the show of "We know our original songs are terrible, but we've played them on the radio before, and when the bar of quality is set so low by an Elmhurst Steve call they don't sound so bad".

Writing and recording songs right now...there is no "band" at the moment or in the near future. |

...in the strictest sense of the word "band" I suppose. i.e. no drummer, precussion, bass, horns, strings, chicks on violin, etc... |

I bet that shit is entertaining as hell. I like that, very Warholian. Maybe ES could paint the wall one color, then start over at the beginning doing another color, and on and on, as a metaphor for the Sisyphean futility of workaday life. |

I can play a mean alto sax.... Well I could 10 years ago, not sure if my skills have eroded as the alcohol has slowly but surely destroyed my brain cells. |

I haven't played in a garage in about 5 years. Basement meng.....basement. Dick Jauron wrote: "I'm in a garge band, but we're not located in a garage." Steve- I'd bet that if you asked Mac nicely, he'd sign his team photo for you....and front a band for you and you could compete in said "Battle of bands". I'm sure with all of your talents that you can play some kind of instrument....... Wait for it.........wait for it.............wait for it............ |

spmack wrote: What happen to Joe the Drummer? I'm going miss seeing his sister (and her fine, but ditzy friend). Joe is still around. The other guitar player Thom is moving to Montreal so Josh and I are reinventing ourselves into a new project. We already have twelve decent structures and three complete songs. Josh is singin, I'm singing a bit. Once Bez finishes Open Book, he will be working into our stuff more and more. So, when that's all done (8 months from now?) we'll see where we are at, and decide what the next step will be. i.e. "rock shows" But, that's a long way off. Jerry is off doing his own writing and I'll add things as he needs it. the passive aggressor project was really fun but it has run its course. It was time to start a new. |

Yeah, but frankly how anyone thinking clearly might think that Matt and Mac would embrace such an idea is a fair question. An anniversary show is supposed to celebrate the show and the things that may have stood out in the time since the show first began broadcasting. How a bunch of guys that are connected to a website that is dying a slow and painful death deserve to be thrown into the mix is a S-T-R-E-T-C-H. |

The only thing dying a slow death is Macs radio show. |
