So is Meatpants. Sorry to disappoint, be he is back today.

Hawkey talk
Bulls discussion
What's wrong with the White Sox
Cowley at some point
Other assorted things

Maybe some imaginary radio, and probably a couple of declarations that the board is dying.

OK

The Louongo parody song isn't bad...it's at least a little more creative and less cheesy than some of the other efforts (I'm looking at you, Duncan Keith song).

Here is what I find funny. On MJH, the songs were meant to be ironically bad. They weren't that good, but they seemed to know it and embrace it. That was one of the things that was amusing and slightly endearing about them.

However, on this show, with meatpants being a serious, it's not a cover band, it's a tribute band, we actually become them, you lose that. These are meant to be good, or serious, or something. Meatpants is a trained musician that gets paying gigs for it. Therefore, you lose the whole "haha, that's funny because it kind of sucks, but is slightly amusing" vibe that MJH had. It sets the bar much higher than what they reach on them. They've hit a few of them. The Hossa song was good.

It's just amusing that show programming that was originally meant to be kind of cheesy and bad has turned into something designed to be good.

That's pretty good.

I did like the draft talk, I know it maybe a little hard to get excited about it, but still nice to hear. Do agree with Spiegel, don't like any of the top quarterbacks, I think Mallet could be the best, if he can get his head straight.

+1

Meaty just lacks any humility whatsoever.

  True

What is the endgame of these parody songs? Do they have hopes of one of these songs catching on?

20k people at the UC screaming THE HOSSA SONG before a big game?

That pretty much says how I feel about them. I don't mind the parody songs. They're short and sweet, and kind of remind me of Dahl's songs. Some hit, some miss, but they're a small part of the show. I actually like the Duncan Keith song. The Luongo song is ok, but having heard it, I don't ever need to hear it again. I hope Mac and Spiegs don't take these songs too seriously, and see it as more tongue in cheek. They're basically the MJH style sung better. They are what they are. I like the show. I'm not crazy about it, and I do like it better when Goff sits in, but it gives me what I need from a sports show. It's a little sports, a little humor, and some guy shit ala The Man Show. Hey, it's free and it's good enough.

The sad part is they spend far more time putting together shitty parody songs than they do prepping for the show. The only prep Mac has ever done is sitting on his fat ass watching TV.

To be fair, there really isn't much more you need to do to prepare for a sports talk show.

And I'd question if you even need to do that. Just toss in a BY CRACKY every so often and you're gold.

That seems true with several of the guys on the score.
I just think if you are going to be paid to talk about something, you should know what you are talking about. That usually leaves Mac and Meat out. Terry too.
