Well I gave it a shot, but once I heard Meatball Mac saying he would be watching Big Z tonight and not tuning into the Bulls until the last 5 mins of the game, I gave up. I will wait for Rome to come on at 11.

Did anyone catch Mac calling the Red Sox "your Red Sox" when addressing Speigel about the Twins/BoSox game?

Cats outta' da' bag, der', Matty!

Man, you talk about stream of consciousness radio. Mac and Spiegel sound like they drank 5 pots of coffee before the show. They are all over the road in the last 10 minutes I've listened. Take a fucking breath guys! You make me want to take a Klonapin.

Always tried to get some peyote in college, that or mescaline...never could find it so I had to stick with a healthy regime of pot, cocaine and mushrooms.

You know, the only thing that could make today any more mind numbing is a call from Mac's favorite racist painter.

I tried some purple mescaline once. OMFG!! You talk about introspection. It's like a disassociative out of body experience, kind of like ketamine of PCP. The peyote wasn't quite as mind altering. Kinda like the best mushroom trip ever. I had some really good shrooms two summers ago. I lost track of how many we ate probably close to a half ounce each. Laughed and fried balls harrrrd for about 12-14 hours. I was a vegetable the next day. :P

I don't think the cat was ever in the bag. Speigs makes no secret that he grew up on the east coast and a Red Sox fan. Hell whenever they joke about Hawk naming old red Sox players Spiegs rattles off every guy who ever put on a Red Sox uniform.

Not sure why you think this is such a 'gotcha' moment.

Spiegel pretends to be a fan of Chicago baseball teams for his job. That's why it's kind of funny that it was mentioned on the air.

I have to agree. Spiegel has a plethora of faults, his Red Sox love isn't one of them.

Hey dudes, BR gets it!

I never said it was a gotcha moment. Matt just carries on the falsehood that he is a Cubs fan (with the show being a Chicago sports show I can accept the fallacy) but I have never heard Mac mention it on air.

Just making an observation, nothing more.

I’m not sure he’s pretending to be anything. I think he’s a baseball fan who wants to see good baseball being played on both sides of town.

I don’t care who he or any other host roots for or how they root for them as long as they are knowledgeable and gives an honest opinion. I think Spiegs does both very well.

I don't really care either and I never said that I did as I was simply making an observation of something that happened on todays show.

And yes, I enjoy Speigs baseball talk, he is good at that and clearly outclasses Mac.

He's busy having a battle on the twitter with Chris DeLuca.

Hey, @ChrisDeLuca, what does "exclusively" mean? And while we're at it, let's discuss "first reported."

He does though. I don't blame him. If I was on the radio in Kansas City I'd probably pretend like I care about whether or not the Royals win. I wouldn't though. The most amusing thing is that he also takes great pains to hide the fact that he only really cares about the Red Sox.

He did the same thing for Illini basketball. It was amusing.

The guy has spent the majority of his adult life in Chicago. He likes baseball, generally. Would it be a stretch to think he picked up a like for the Cubs during that time? While in Washington, I knew more about Towson State basketball than any non alum should ever know.
