Mac mentioned setting an over/under on the marriage's longevity, but no number was set. |

Lets hear it |

That is pretty close. Dahl was drunk/coked per usual at Meier's wedding. Then during Meier's honeymoon the last straw was Dahl talking personal stuff and being the Steve. As Meier's wife already hated Dahl this was apparently the last thing he could take. Career suicide followed. |

Congratulations to my man Meatpants! Part of the Dahl/Meier breakup also was that, while Garry was on his honeymoon, Janet ripped on the Meiers pretty heavily. It's hard not to take Dahl's side of the argument after seeing how Meier's wife has fucked up at least two high paying gigs for the guy. |

Contract was up and Dahl always had the upperhand. Meier's wife wanted 50/50. The whole thing blew up |

Actually for an extremely long time Dahl made all the money and paid Meier as an employee of his out of his cash. At least that is my fuzzy recollection |

Minor point of order for pittmike, Garry Meier's career suicide didn't come till his wife bungled him out of WLS. He did a pretty good show with Roe. |

I loved the Roe and Garry show a ton but he had a long lull before that. His wife/agent screwed him there too I think? |

After the Roe screw-up,he left some of the best years of his radio life slip away. I'm a big fan,but on "GN,it's a hard listen because of all the breaks. |

Not holding my breath but as the world always comes around full circle.... I see Steve and Garry again on WGN when Dahl is out from under his CBS contract. I give him credit for standing up to the corporate monster and no taking a buyout. It has to be hard for Steve to say screw you I will keep my mouth shut off the airwaves and take all the millions you signed for. |

Without really knowing Meier or Conn I started listening to that show and I gave all the credit to Roe. Meier a total sidekick huh? |
