Yes,but that's beside the point. Why get married now if your losing your radio gig?

He has a new gig lined up in Grand Rapids.

Maybe everyone here is wrong regards to Spiegel. Just a possibility :-)

I don't think, though, that any new paper would allow him to take off as much as he has with the tribute band.

I am thinking your right Beebo, I do like both Spiegel and Goff, but thinking it will be Mac and Spiegel for another year.

Maybe nobody is losing a job. They can just add Goff to B&B. Make it a 3 man team.

As a fellow portly fellow I think I'm in a position to answer this question: when a nice looking woman shows even the slightest interest you grab on with both hands and don't let go until a court orders you to do so.

Spoke to my guy again today. Chatter around the station is louder than ever. Something is definately going down and soon...

Ironic. Usually it's the opposite when someone gets married.

Well played Dr.
The single guys laugh at that joke. The married men just sigh and nod at it's truthfulness.

Well if it is the 15th when something goes down, that's a week from tommorow.

The show stays the same with each getting a 2 yr contract?

Post subject:  Re: Question about Speigs.

Doug played a trick on us. On the day Goff was in with Mac, he said "I predict....we have more of the same post June 15th."

I (we?) took that to mean "more of Goff & Mac." But obviously, with his 'disappointment' comment in this thread, the "more of the same" comment was trickery, meaning Mac and Meat are staying together. Case closed.

Screw you Ivan for getting my hopes up!!!!

Still don't see the suckage that you guys see in him. Maybe my blinders?

Whatever the case, I enjoy listening to the two of them and also enjoy the fill-ins that do a great job.

I think we need to concentrate on another show not sucking as much and taking a nose dive recently, IMO. It's beginning to become a PTFB show for me with the same formula over and over (sans WYC) and causing me to go to 1000.

I don't like his general demeanor and for me it permeates through everything he says. I want someone to have some passion about the sports and teams they speak of. He just seems to arbitrarily pick a side during most discussions and that shows that he really isn't a fan of the Chicago teams. The songs he does for the show are brutal at best. The 100 days of vacation per year speak for themself.

I believe that he is a Sports fan first and foremost, which is alright by me. Someone doesn't have to be a homer for me to listen to them. As far as the parody songs, something does seem to be lacking in them. They're well produced, but the goofiness and wittiness is missing just a bit. The ones produced with Mac, Harry or listeners singing were much funnier, IMO.

He's certainly not "bad" IMO, and I do appreciate that when he is actually on the air, he seems prepared. He's not PTFB radio for me or anything like that. For me though, I think the biggest issue I have, is I don't see him as a guy I would want to sit at the end of the bar with for hours on end talking sports (unlike Mac, Bernstein, Goff, etc). Part of that is his demeanor (as was mentioned earlier), but I will say, on the handful of times I have met him he has been a cool dude.

As for Mac/Meat vs Mac/Goff, I simply like the Mac/Goff pairing better. Less of an indictment on Meat, and more because I like Goff and specifically the way Goff works with Mac.

He's just like how on SNL, when they have a football player, they MUST do a cheesy football sketch...
Speeges fancies himself a singer, so he must have moments where he sings. He must.
