Do I have to do everything. Why don't any of you think to just ask him what's going on?

Mac, level with us, where do things stand now? Are you demanding that it be you and Spiegs or you walk? ESPN 1000 calling you? You at least acting like they are for leverage? Are you demaning more than a one-year-deal this time? Is this also about you trying to get the afternoon slot? What's going on?

Because the way we do things is a lot more fun.

Anyone else notice that the Zambrano/Crain luncheon or whatever its called does not include Danny Mac's name in the commercials anymore?

I don't know why you're laughing at that suggestion. He brought Spiegs in. He's clearly his long time friend. Mac has the hammer cuz Mitch loves Mac, Mac knows it and he knows Mitch is weak. Hell, that's how he got Mitch to hire Spiegs in the first place. You're damn right it could be a "both of us or none of us" try by Mac to help his friend. Or it's at least Mac hoping they don't think he's bluffing. He's holding his cards as long as he can. He will come back without him. Don't get me wrong.

I just don't know if this is above Mitch.

If the show is meat and goff its going to fucking suck no matter how much goff brings to the table. If he keeps this gig he shall forever be known as meatpants hendry.

The tone Mac has taken with Meat since the new year has led me to believe he has soured on him.

I think I noticed that during B&B...I was only half paying attention, though.

Let me get this straight. Mac bailed out ESPN 1000 when Mitch was the PD, right? They were nothing before he got there. He also rescued the Score after Mitch made the "Hamp and Holmes" mistake. Remember this everybody? Yeesh.

Screw this Mac, you need to go at Mitch this way the next time you meet. He'll know you're right and give you what you want.

Beardown, I agree with your last post and that's why I can't see the Score letting Mac go, just look at the last show Mac left and what happened to it.

If Spiegel was left without Mac, I could that turning into Hit and Run everyday, and maybe little time for other things.

Rod Zimmerman signs these deals. If it was Mitch this would be done.

However, Mac is taking a day off on the day he is supposed to be signed up again? Will address this in another thread

Is he taking it off for contract talks.

That's what kind of thought by the threads posted here today. It reached a point of no return and, while it's not over, Mac can't be on the air anymore. Boers has been in this situation before if I remember correctly.

It has happened before, could be diffrent between the Score and ESPN, because Harry worked when he didn't have a contract.

I remember reading in one of the newspapers when Mac was going though one at ESPN, he said he didn't know if he should go to work without a contract, he did and the contract was done the next day.

This does make sense. That's why I asked who was in control. I remember Mac saying that the Score is Zimmerman's "Baby". I always had the sense that Mitch was weak ass boss that could be minipulated by someone like Mac. Nobody knows much about Zimmerman.

Hell, I remember reading in the papers that Mitch was on North's side. That and the "Hamp and Holmes" hire shows that Mitch is in over his head and that's why Zimmerman steps in now with McNeil. Zimmerman knows Mac would walk over Mitch.

The only thing you are correct about is that Mitch does think Lo is good. Just wonder how many more times he can have shows before Mitch does realize he is bad. Not RPB Fun bad, just bad

Wait a second. Are you saying that Larry is a possibility to take
"The Danny Mac Show" slot again?

Is Mitch really gonna force Larry on Chicago again in a meaningful time slot?

Any time slot Laurence is on is meaningful.

Doc, I think I kind of figured you out, you just say you like Larry cuz it's the contrarian position, right? I mean, it's just you going againt anybody with taste, class, intelligence and sensibility, right? Cuz, from what people here say of you and from what I've read of you, I know you have all of the above. You're just jerking our chain on the "Larry love" right?

Nope. I listen as much as I can. Podcast if needed.

RPB is "on the fence" compared to me.

Ok. Misread it. I guess I was wrong. Well, as far as "Larry lovers" go, you're one of the good ones. You go out of your way to podcast him? God have mercy on you're soul.

I tried him a couple of years ago. Figured out what he is. Now, he gets me for the "B&B transtion" and then I'm done. I want to see how Terry and Dan jerk him around and how he plays the bitch for them. That's fun and entertaining.

"your soul" if that's what you meant. I know the damn difference between "your and you're".

A Meat and Larry combination would be brutal. Mac + basically anyone other than Meat would be ideal. Someone in a suit must have a hard on for elaborate cover bands.
