Turned on for about 2 minutes this morning. Sounded like a similar thing to the Miller interview. Holmes started to give his opinion on his list of best sports rivalries before Spiegel cuts him off and essentially says he would prefer to hear the listener opinion over Holmes. Also, when is Speigel going to drop the whole pre-show meeting thing? Finaly, how did Spiegel not know that Jeff Smardignaganza was not a football player at ND?

Not knowing that Sharkzilla was a WR at ND is unacceptable. He was an All American, potential 1st round draft pick on arguably the most seen team in college football. Being a legit threat to play in the NFL is the only reason he got that rookie contract.

The pre-meeting power trip is hilarious. It sounds like it stems from the same power trip where he emphatically refers to his non Mac co-hosts as producers/writers or whatever they do so that they and the world understand their place below him.

He probably should forget about pitching for the Cubs and concentrate on catching Jay Cutler passes for the Bears instead. Jeff would probably be better than any of the bums on the Bears' receiving corps right now.

Talking about players' size in the locker room is uncomfortable radio.

He didn't know who AL MVP Zoilo Versalles was. And he hosts a baseball show once every three weeks.

Thats bad but the Szmardia thing is worse.

That perfectly exemplifies how much of an out of towner he is.

There is no more Chicago story than a Star Notre Dame WR getting drafted and paid way too much money by the Cubs

You'd have to go out of your way to NOT know that.

Maybe its a joke. I have a hard time believing he didnt know that.

Holmes and Spiegs discussed the Shark going to the Bears yesterday. Spiegs knows he played WR in college, maybe not at ND? I didn't hear the show today.

Out of towner? ND is on NBC every weekend from September to December and Samardzija was a major force for a good team. He was a top WR prospect for the pros before he chose baseball as a top prospect. You would have to not been watching not to notice him.

I can't hold it against Speigs for not knowing ancient history but if he didn't know that Szmarg was a former ND WR,he needs to be punished. That's embarrasing for a so-called major sportsradio station in Chicago. This ain't Mayberry.

1965 ain't exactly ancient history, jimmy. You were in high school then for God's sake, weren't you?

Really? You strike me as a Taft guy. I would have guessed there was a character in Grease based on you.

What sucks is that when they changed affiliates from the Reds to the Dodgers they also changed their color to blue instead of the classic red. It just doesn't look the same.

What? That is stupid.

One of the craziest stadiums I've ever been to. Lots of stadiums have shortened/lengthened outfield walls due to obstructions outside of the stadium, but that place basically only has stands on the 1st base side - due to the highway running along the 3rd base side.

They also forgot to put in a bullpen so they have 2 of them located in the forest behind CF. The locker room sucks too as for the visitors you have to actually open the right field wall to enter it. It was very poorly designed.
