Get my mind off the verbal masturbation about NBA playoffs... and tell me why you guys aren't digging what Stern's been doing lately. I'm sick of the AGT plugs, but I think his show almost invariably is interesting. Love the guests.... and the banter among a large support staff. What's not cool about it for those of you who aren't enjoying it? |

Pretty simple for me...I don't have Sirius or xm and his show is not on E anymore. That said, I was not of fan of his early on, but grew to really appreciate him and his schtick. I even liked his movie. I've heard he "only" does 3 shows a week....if true...that's not particularly cool for the consumer either. |

I hear ya, but so much of what he does is timeless so I don't mind hearing rebroadcasts. Plus, I rarely listen in the morning when it's live anyway. The great think about Sirius/XM 100 is it's all Howard all the time. |

Artie leaving was a major factor for me. I still listened to almost every minute of the show for a year after, but it was very different. First, it was nice to have a vocal male in the room that wasn't talking about reality competition shows and pedicures. Also, I have zero interest in anything having to do with Benjy on the show. I like his jokes, and you could tell which bits were his during the show. But as a character, I'm not interested. Artie leaving put Benjy into his on air role. The second biggest factor for me was signing with America's Got Talent. It was bad enough hearing about him watching the shows, but first hand involvement? Again, no thank you. "Ah, Howard, I don't want to rush the AGT talk, but Joan Rivers is here." "Gary, apologize to Joan Rivers and get her in here jackass." The funny thing is, I heard someone speaking poorly about him a couple weeks ago, and I defended him as a long time guy. I don't begrudge his success, income, etc. He's earned it all. It's just not really my thing these days. |

OMFG DANNY MAC KNOWS NON-TESTICULAR RADIO!?!?!? bubba is killing it down in tampa. i bet you rock could tell you about him... my brother's in his dropped-the-trey club so if i don't end up touring the world djing and rapping, i could see myself in tampa for a spell learning the trade of radio from bubba. |

the guests? - jason ellis - benji's girlfriend - joe walsh - joan rivers - david hasselhoff - jenny mccarthy awful. unlistenable and uninteresting or old news. "prometheus", one of the biggest and most anticipated movies of the summer, is released tomorrow. no charlize theron? michael fassbender? or even the legend ridley scott himself? no...we get...joan rivers. fuck that. this show is better when it's in reruns. |

This. Howard is an excellent interviewer. Also, I think he works better when he has another comedy guy as a regular on the show, a person who wasn't necessarily 'made' (or at least doesn't think he was made) by Howard because those people keep Howard interested and that makes for better radio. |

2011 was the year of Howard's photography hobby. 2012 is the year of America's Got Talent. When low on content, ask Sal a question and laugh at how stupid he pretends to be then play a Tradio call. Repeat. |

This guy has just been cashing checks for about the last 5-10 years. Kind of like another radio personality I can think of... |

I don't get Sirius but I still get to listen to the show fairly often. This is the sad remnant of what used to be the Howard Stern Show. There is almost no creativity left. The Wack Pack has been replaced some unlikeable dregs whose only interesting feature is that they survive without employment. Working 3 days a week makes most of his social commentary stale (and really, the news was always the best part of the show). Vitriol that used to be reserved for the hypocrites of Hollywood has been replaced with disdain for his fans. Howard does not want to be there and it is painfully obvious. He signed this last contract for the payday and the show is limping to the finish line. Dan, there is a Howard Stern thread in the national broadcasts section. |

Once Howard started using his show as a vehicle for his wife's career, I soured on him. Now the show is so lazy, it is almost the same thing everyday. -Richard and Sal get naked -Richard and Sal's terrible phony phone calls which get overplayed -Sal pretends to not know where Mexico is -the manufactured "fights" between the minions (Sal, JD, Ronnie, Jason, Tracy, etc.) -take planted phone calls from the ass-licking sycophants -complain about how he hates his job, despite the miniscule hours, minimal effort, and huge paycheck -the same guests over and over (Joan Rivers, Jason Ellis, AGT hosts, Dr. Drew, Janice Dickinson, etc.), where is Gilbert Gottfried? -anything else Robin? -his general disdain for his listeners, and pretty much anybody other than the Hampton's elite -he kisses just about every celebrity's ass, because he may run into them at the red carpet events he attends, even people he used to destroy (Seinfeld, Chevy Chase, Rosie, etc.) -he can make fun of anybody for anything, including ethnicity and religion, but as soon as anybody makes even an innocent comment about a Joo, he screams about anti-semitism. I could go on and on. Seriously, if anybody thinks that Mac is lazy, they ought to listen to Hampton's Howie. I used to listen to every second of every show, now I barely listen. I would rather listen to you, Mac. |

It's basically just a station for old Howard bits with a few hours of current programming per week. Nothing says relevance like Sam Kinison Week or Classic Robin News Stories Week (Big Voice Guy:...TOMORROW...THE MARV ALBERT STORY....). Debbie the Pet Lady is awful Eric the Midget is awful The Wrap-Up Show is nauseating where Gary holds court among a group of sycophants musing over how great Howard was that day or what girls Howard could have nailed if he wanted. Gary giving the final word on what is correct. Artie at least would provide non-Howard related content and, while Artie kissed Howard's ass too, he'd still give Howard a "fuck you, I can get a job if I want" attitude from time to time. When Artie left, it really stuck a knife in that show. |

The rise of Gary as anything but an object of scorn has really defined the current show. That fucking monkey should be lower on the entertainment totem pole than Goff and drinky but he feels sufficiently relevant to write a book and host a show. |

Haven't listened to him since I had to drop Sirius for financial reasons. I still enjoyed his show, but like someone else said....just isn't the same anymore. I'm sure I'd listen if I can ever get Sirius again. |

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like a lot of you have a long history with the Howard show. I don't, so maybe that's why I'm enjoying it so much. You probably know that "Phase A" period you have with a girl.... a television program.... radio show when you first get on board. I've had Sirius/XM for two years and am still giddy hearing "fuck" and "asshole" and "fuck you in the asshole" on the radio. How liberating that must be for satellite hosts with that freedom. Some day.... |

The last year he was on terrestrial radio, Howard sounded as if he wanted to get fired so that he could start flapping his gums on Sirius Satellite Radio (now Sirius/XM). That was 2005, and I remember Howard's former boss at his New York flagship station suspended Stern and CBS bossman Les Moonves filed a breach of contract suit against the "King of All Media" because of constant references to the "S" word during his last year on what's now called CBS Radio, the parent company of his former flagship there and affiliate here, the former WCKG. While I haven't listened to Stern since he went to satellite, I wonder if the move to satellite was that smart of an idea from a business standpoint. I'm not so sure Stern has increased listenership since he made the move and I'm not so sure there are that many people on the whole that tune into, let alone subscribe to satellite radio. |

Never been into Howard, ever. More of a Johnny B/Mancow fan. Also used to be a huge Dennis Miller guy. His show was very interesting. |

Whoops, screwed up. Didn't get my post. The interviews of late have actually been good IMO. Sacha Baron Cohen was one of the best I've heard. Really funny and great story-telling. I thought JMcCarthy's was also pretty awesome. Hearing her talk about watching porn to learn how to give head was pretty amazing. The Hoff was also funny to laugh AT, but definitely not a good interview in the true sense. I did even enjoy the Joan Rivers interview and I loved Takai week. Anyway, I'm in the same boat as Mac. Have only been listening recently so I love it. Also love the re-runs so I can "catch up." Huge fan right now. |
