I've grown tired of the parody songs and breaking into song with Mac everytime a players name sounds like a chorus from an 80's song BUT never actually saw Spiegel sing live or wanted to.

I was at the HSCM event at the Metro last night to basically see the Samashing Pumpkins and hope they'd play old stuff (+5 years) which they mainly did and it was Outstanding.
The new album also appears to have great potential ....but back to Meat Pants.

They had multiple opening acts play a few songs and they ranged from terrible to decent.
Cubs president Theo was pounding beers and was very impressive on guitar.
Cubs TV Len and Bob jumped on stage to play quitars and to my surprise Spiegel was the singer for their "band".
I must admit I thought I would hate him (darn you FELDCO) but he was actually really good and you could tell he was very comfortable in front of a big crowd. I gained some respect for his side job.

I'm really starting to like Mac and Spiegs - wow did I say that?
Note if Larry is on the show still sucks.
Maybe it's the fact that B&B have gotten so bad that I can't even listen more than a couple minutes. I've always hated Bernstein but thought he ran a good show now it truely is a parody of a guy with a Napoleon complex who feels too high brow to talk "sports".

Nice job Spiegs!

The Smashing Pumpkins setlist last night:

Black Diamond (Kiss)
Zero
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Today
Starla
Quasar (new)
Panopticon (new)
Tonight Tonight Reprise
Tonight Tonight (Billy fucks up the lyrics)
Ava Adore
1979
Muzzle
Cherub Rock
Space Oddity (David Bowie).
X.Y.U.

Spiegs was moving like Jagger last night. :D

Pumpkins were awesome as usual. We got pretty close. I got the head nod from Billy. After 18 years of shows he finally recognizes me now.

Was this that Peter Gammons thing? How was the rest of it?

The first two acts were really good.

Jenny Dee and the Delinquents were awesome.
Company of Thieves was good.
Peter Gammons could sing and play guitar pretty damn well.
Theo looked stiff and a bit drunk.
Len is good...Bob is ok.

Nice set list. Black Diamond? That's pretty cool.

Presumably having nothing to do with Spiegs also being good in a band..

The commonality is Larry. E.g., IMO, Larry sucks. So the show sucks when he's on.

Can I get my fireworks and porn back at the end of class or do I need to wait until my dad can pick them up.
