Why is Mac always yelling? He does it waaaaaaay more than Mully.

And did I really hear him questioning Andy Reid's grieving process?

Just 'cause Mac needs two months off for being sad about nothing........

God forbid something happens to a Mac loved one, you ass lickers wouldn't hear from him again until 2014.

This post is pure awesome. Thanks for the laughs, KS.

Agreed, a guy who takes 6 weeks to kick herb really has no ground to stand on the proper time away for personal reasons. Mac is treading on dangerous ground here. He just mentioned Reid hasnt grieved the "proper amount of time". What is the proper amount of time, Mac?

 That's pretty good, KS. I expect Mac to read this and have a response.

The loss of a child must inflict unbearable pain on a parent. Maybe the only thing that's saving him from self-implosion is the distraction provided by his work.

Mac does not yell more than Mully. That is 100% false.

Mully's regular voice is a yell

And I have to admit, I always wondered (and still do) why Reid never took ANY time off to do something about his sons

Maybe he couldnt have. It just seems odd to me that the one guy who could use a break or leave of absence currently has the longest tenure of coaching

Of course it exists, and I'll take the herb line back. But as someone who just saw my aunt and uncle lose their son, and saw my uncle go right back to work to get his mind off the unbearable sadness, I think it's absolutely inexcusable for Mac in any way to judge him without knowing what the fuck he is talking about. or to judge how long is long enough.

I agree as much as I like Danny Mac, you should never tell him anybody how to handle death. Especially burying a child. This is also said with the fact, that I didn't personally hear his comments, just commenting on what I have read here.

Excellent Packers report. Also surprised the prissy diva didn't get upset when Mac and Zawzer laughed at him for being a fat mess. Getting in an accident setting up a passenger seat buffet at Culvers is priceless

He keeps talking about trying to eat better. Apparantly, eating better consists of Culver's, breakfast sandwiches, pulled pork, and pie (by cracky).

I don't know how Andy Reid found the courage to talk about this during that press conference.

I thought for sure that weeks and even months would go by as we were left to speculate on his thoughts and actions.

The only insight I was expecting on this Reid situation, would undoubtedly come from real estate mogul Larz CRM.

His son's life was leading to his logical conclusion for a while despite the best of efforts to help him. Reid may have reached a comfort (wrong word) with the reality that some day he would wake up to a dead son and was not so shocked by it when it occurred.

I don't know how he could not spend time with his wife for communal support but who knows.

I look at a lot of guys who are older, well past normal retirement age, who steadfastly refuse to leave the office behind. I guess it brings them security and comfort. I tell myself I won't be like that. I imagine that I will.

How could a guy spend 13 years in a job that requires such crazy hours while his kid is spiralling toward death without taking a leave? (Offseason in today's NFL is virtually non existant)

Add in the fact that he was financially set for life after year 2 or 3.

There is more to this story. I hate to say this but something tells me Reid himself had a big part in creating what his kids became. Maybe he was a psychotic football dad and he wrote them off when they chose not to play.

Total speculation on my part though

BULLSHIT

Depression actually exists in like 2% of the diagnosed cases. Mac's case is NOT one of them (being bored of your job is not depression, it's being in the wrong job for you - in his case because he can't make anywhere near as much doing anything else). The kicking weed and booze is a much more plausible explanation for the absence than Mac's official one.

2% might be too low, but it is single digits. At least 9/10 prescriptions for antidepressants are unnecessary.

I believe that depression is over diagnosed but what part of your rectum did you pull this number from?

I should have said about 2% of antidepression prescriptions are actually necessary.

Doesnt that amount to the same thing? If you are clinically depressed you need medication to try to balance things.

I think people mix up minor or temporary depression. Perhaps docs over prescribe for this but who knows? Debilitating major depression is very real. Maany times this also comes with a substance issue as many try to self-medicate prior to seeking profession help.

That distraction could provide him with cover for a long time. I'd be surprised if it would last forever.
