...because his ignorant dismissal of the next ESPN 30/30 episode regarding the "Ole Miss" football program of the 60s and the violence & virulent racism of the era was shocking. Dan's lack of even rudimentary knowledge of the subject showed what a good ole boy he really is. His producers should have given him a bit of a heads up; dude, learn a little bit about collegiate sports and how it influenced the fight for civil rights in this nation. Do you even have any African-American friends (outside your co-workers)? Holy crap are you shallow idiot!

Ok I will bite... I haven't seen the show but tried last night. It was on espn2 according to my guide but something about horses was instead. Anyway... aside from the normal racism stories about our tragic times in the early 60's what did collegiate sports have to do with racism?

I don't think Mac is racist per se. I just don't think he cares much about race relations, political activism, and the like. He doesn't strike me as a "cause" guy.

If Mac can't lose a ton of money on it he isn't interested.

Dan's neither one. Perhaps you are just a bit too sensitive.

For not caring/knowing about a story that 90% of the country doesn't know or care about? OK.

Mac's not a racist. This has been put on him by B&B's crew. It's one of the reasons Goff fought with him. That was always the undertone to that thing. Fuckin' Bernstein brainwashed Goff into thinking that of him. McNeil has been wrongfully accused!!!!

That show has insinuated as much often enough, which is ironic, because as has been well documented here recently, Bernstein is the new Mike North.

I know a tiny bit about the history of college football. You can easily give a very thorough accounting of the civil rights movement and never mention the sport, unfortunately.

Listening to the show today Mac said that a hotel in New York is missing out on a golden opportunity by hosting the Steelers for this weekend, even if they have to kick out some people who have most their homes in the storm. When pushed on it Mac says people will forget about the hotel kicking them out within a month just like people have forgiven BP. That might be the dumbest thing I have heard anyone say on the radio in sometime.

Yeah I heard that. It sounded like Mac realized how dumb it was when Spiegs called him out but he's a stubborn guy.
