I'm not taking anything away from the Hawks start. The '85 Bears and '96 Bulls are arguably the best teams in their respective sport's history. Let's wait more than 19 games to announce something would have to go horribly wrong for the Hawks not to eclipse them. Don't mistake this for the "championship or meaningless" viewpoint championed by Bernstein. It's more of a plea to stop viewing everything on one extreme end of the spectrum or the other. |

Just to add to your perspective: the Bears went 12-0 which is undefeated through 75% of the regular season. While it did not break the Dolphin record for most wins to start a season, I think you can argue that it was a greater achievement than the Hawks. |

Yeah but they also had awesome regular seasons, the Bears like gd stated with the 12-0 start, 15-1 overall, .9375 winning percentage. Bulls obviously 72-10, well known as the best record in nba history. I didn't figure to have a Bernstein approach to teams and championships though. |
