And it's not only that he admits to not watching important games. It's like he wears the "I don't watch NBA games" thing like a badge of honor. Like a NBA vs. NHL sort of thing.

Posters aren't paid to host sports talk radio shows.

Terry is a bood for doing it too. But I don't get the same "Fuck those guys" kind of vibe from him when he does it. It's just laziness, which is an entirely different matter.

Mac has an anti-NBA/Bulls mind set. He thinks the NBA is in direct competition with his beloved NHL. He's one of "those".

Nope. My hatred for hockey is as strong as ever. I have no issue with Mac watching/talking hockey on his show. Playoffs are important in any sport. And nobody is paying me to give two fucks about toothless morons figure skating with sticks.

Ratings would suggest that paying attention to and talking about the Bulls would be a good idea. There is no NBA vs NHL thing happening except in the minds of meatballs. One has nothing to do with the other, but they find a way to link them. He can love his Blackhawks and watch an elimination game for the Bulls. I think it would be a wise choice...

So Ivan, if the host is lazy and doesnt want to watch an important sporting event, thats ok you can still enjoy the show. The host being spiteful about not watching the show, ruins your enjoyment of the show . Just trying to get parameters straight here.

No excuses really for not watching game 7. But, M&S do make a large effort to cover all teams. If they can't intelligently on something at least they'll have a guest that will. Their roster of guests actually have great insight for the most part.

Oh ok. I agree, neither are acceptable . I know Mac doesnt watch / like basketball but that a pretty important game not some fucking throwaway game in the middle of January. I dont particularly like basketball post Jordan either, but that was a hell of a game and as a sports fan partial Bulls fan that was exciting and fun to watch. That being said, i at least have a little more grudging respect for Mac at least being out front on record saying he doesnt like the NBA and thats why he doesnt watch the games ( though he should its his fucking job) than I do for Boers basically just saying , yeah I cant be bothered to watch these games. Its a small difference I know but I find that more distasteful than Mac's.

In fairness, maybe Danny Mac is a B&B listener who was told all season that this season doesn't really matter and then it was reinforced by the idea that it will be a relief if the Bulls lose to the Nets.

I think Dan McNeil represents a majority of guys in his age group and tax bracket and as Terry's Peeps mentioned, I think this board is a good indicator of that. Nothing surprising. I don't care.

I think that's pretty accurate, yeah. Mac transcends even that, by being defiantly lazy. Sure, Terry's lazy, but Mac actually makes it a point of pride. I generally enjoy Mac, but it's really irritating to hear him gloat about how much work he misses and how he didn't watch key games when you know how well he's getting paid to talk sports.
