Post subject:  Official 5/28 Mac/Meat Show Thread: MacHawk on the Warpath!

A big 'Hawks win means Big Chief MacHawk might take the day off because that's what he does. Anyways, big day today.

-MacHawk takes control early and pushes huge 'Hawks talks. All day, all show. Anyone who tries otherwise will be clobbered.
-Meat tries to inject some hot NBA spice concerning the playoffs, (who cares!?) the Spurs and Pacers/Heat....MacHawk scalps him.
-Sox/Cubs? No fuckin' way.
-Hockey interviews as far as the eye can see and ear can hear.
-Musical cuts dedicated to the 'Hawks coming back to life. All cuts must be from the 70's and 80's.
-If Mac ditches out on the show and takes the day off we might hear Meat (if he bothers to show up) have phone interview with MacHawk from the reservation palatial NW Indians.
-The producers do most of the heavy lifting.
-Mac grumbling, guffawing and 'Harummphing' at Meat when he tries to bring up more popular sports to talk about will be uncomfortable and awesome.

Hockey, Hockey, Puck, Puck. MacHawk has his face painted with the blood of NBA fans, he's looking for NHL love...all day, all day. He will get it.....if he shows up.

Tune in, Tune out.

It's an Evolution.

-Leading with 'Hawks
-Pearl Jams - Alive
-Soundbites from previous shows!
-Eddie O in at 10am for an interview? That's actually some nice work by the crew to have him on.

Lining 'em up, knockin' 'em down.

Strap yourself down, and light yourself on fire.

Why is Mac so torn about the penalty on Frolik that resulted in a penalty shot?

Seemed pretty cut and dry to me.

I love the intro-for-a-1988-fire-safety-video-you-watch-in-seventh-grade graphics for the commercial break.

When they give that overhead shot, Spiegs kinda looks like a big mound.

Will B&B receive the same treatment? Would love to see Terry's basement.

Saw the cam, Speigs has to be damn near 4 spins. 4 hours of hockey talk is to much. Keep it.

Yeah, Meat looks bigger than he was in the past, maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. He has a wife and kid now, I hope he gets in shape and gets healthy.

The SUPER HOCKEY TALK is going to stretch my patience but you just wait and see how it will be if the Blackhawks get into the Stanley Cup Finals. But what else are they supposed to talk about?

-Sox = Bad
-Cubs = Bad
-Bulls are done. D Rose talk is old hat.
-NBA talk = Mac doesn't watch it. FULL STOP. He also makes it clear he doesn't want to have anything to with it. Meat tries and is decent but Mac cuts him short.
-Bears = Not much. Draft is over. Not in camp yet so Sir Larry can't break 12 stories that rock the football world to its very core.

Face it, folks, it's a desolate Chicago sports landscape and it isn't going to change for a bit.

Buckle up, strap it on.

Hockey talk doesn't move meters. Hell, some cable providers don't even offer NBCSports. NHL has less viewers than golf, NASCAR, and UFC. Really doesn't deserve much attention.

Eddie O is a great interview, knows his stuff and has a good flow with Mac and Meat.

Good stuff.

Love Shep giving it to Candyman for skipping the transition yesterday. Poor Candyman was exhausted of doing 4 hours of hardcore radio with Rozner. Didnt have the energy to give his producer and fill in host 15 minutes.

Really? In Chicago it certainly does. What would you prefer they talk about a night before a playoff Game 7?

He doesnt understand how important every minute is to a producer trying to breakthrough to host.

Yep. Apparently Meat has already forgotten his time in digging radio ditches, doing shitty/thankless producer work, rough hours and doing it all with an unsure future.

He should be doing what he can to help these guys out and make sure they get all the air time they can, but Meat can't be bothered to spend the 15 minutes.

How soon he forgets that Mac grabbed his rotten corpse off the garbage heap and gave him his break in a major market.

A jerk move, Meat....it's all adding up now.

My favorite part was Spiegs' tiny dig at Terry. He said something like, "...blah blah blah, well, Shep was sitting in Terry's chair, or at least when he's here, blah, blah blah..."
His lack of self-awareness is hilarious.
