This isn't a bankruptcy problem it's just belt-tightening problem. Everyone' had to cut back the past few years and now the rooftop's turn.

Meat: Jay, do you know anyone who plays in the KHL?
Larry: I have a friend who plays in the KHL?
Meat: Who? (he asks as if he is shocked)
Larry: Brett Sopel (He says sheepishly)

Hey, I met Brett Sopel last year, can I say I have a friend in the KHL? I could, but I wouldnt!

Hey Larry! how about just saying Brett Sopel plays in the KHL. We all know who Brett Sopel is and not one of us or anyone thinks of Brett Sopel as 'Larrys Friend" He is a former Blackhawk, who everyone that followed the 2010 Hawks knows who he is. Wow , just about as uncool as a guy can be, but then again Meat seem to enjoy his company...hmmmm? and CLICK we go

What's really said is Holmes is the best sports anchor NBC5 has already...

But he did remind me that he lives in Hyde Park, you know where Obama has a house. And because of that he has to put up with secret service. I had almost forgot. :roll:

Don't forget he has a place in Arizona. The NFL coaches meeting was taking place 5 minutes from his place so he thought it would be a good time to go and introduce himself to Trestman.

Larry is the new "mike north" as far as a lightning rod goes on the CSFMB.
I still don't mind listening to him but he does veer off the tracks in to odd and disturbing "guy talk".

I can't stand Laurence or his show. Or when he fills in anywhere. And he definitely oozes of uncoolness out of every pore on his body.

To North's credit, he would at least get his "friend" to come on the show just to lend some credibility.

Recently while hosting with Bernstein , Dan told a rather poignant story about a good deed performed by a person of their aquaintance and no sooner had he finished the story than Larry chimed in with "They came to my birthday party ..." Everything has to be about him and its a bonus if he can make himself look like he is an important figure on the local media scene. Self centered and a pompous ass besides.Unlistenable.
