Dear Lord!

The little of yesterdays show that I listened to was fairly brutal. The chemistry between Finji and Mac is pretty damn good with Finji learning that he doesn't quite have to kiss Macs ass and defer to him for the whole show but the actual content was lacking. Neither host watches Chicago baseball and they brag about it. Trade deadline talk? No way they pay attention to that. NBA talk? HA! No fucking way. Oh well, at least we have the "DRAMA" of whether MeatPants will be getting new ink comes next week or make a choice to move on. Will it give him the sense to wonder? To wonder if he's free? People like to shit all over Meat, and that's fine because he has earned it with his behavior but I do know that Meat would have been prepared to talk baseball and the NBA as he actually is prepared to do his job at least when he's there and as a voice, even the haters would have to give him that.

Eh, another week and we will know the story.

-Baseball talk? The hosts don't watch it so probably not.
-Biogenesis /Arod/Braun talk? This is a pretty big story involving multiple star players in a major U.S. sports league.....neither host knows what's going on so they probably ignore it.
-NBA/D Rose talk? Same as the above.
-NFL camp/preseason talk? Who knows.

This show seems to be floating in space with no direction and no hosts that watch sports or at the very least pretend that they watch sports. It's rough out there from 9-1pm. It's a void filled with placid faces and lifeless pageants.

A season in the abyss? We should be so lucky.

Finfer laughed at Spiegel when Mac mentioned he cried after seeing Buerhle's perfect game. So that was cool.

Listening now...

-Team has quite on the season, not necessarily on Ventura.
-Mac knows people close to the locker room....they don't necessarily agree with Mac.
-Sveum needed to blow off steam so he got tossed from the game, he is looking forward to 2015 because of the awesome A+ prospects the Cubs received in the Garza trade.
-Great week for the Cubs. They got a super great return for Garza, great trade! Jr. Lake has gotten some hits so the Cubs may have a guy to put in the line up.
-Finji is Jr. Lake fan #1, loves him, he's great, he's exciting and he's bunting for hits.
-Camp is starting! Oh boy!

So, all of the above...all the crack analysis and in depth scouting of the Garza trade, of Jr. Lake and all the guys they Cubs got in return for Garza....was done by 2 guys who don't watch baseball. You know what? IT SHOWS. AWFUL.

Dan McNeil chooses to be positive rather than negative.

Only when discussing the Cubs apparently.

Mac glad to be gone of three-pack of douchebaggery: "Lovie Smith, Urlacher, and Cutler." Down to a one-pack now. Mac essentially just said he hated Cutler, thinks he is a "butt-nugget."

I think Aaron Rodgers would get picked on in Chicago until someone wins a trophy.

Holy shit, Mac is totally out of his mind and out of his depth discussing Cutler...the 2 Shep and Finji were trying to run cover and reel him back in but he continued on. That was painful, does Mac even watch Bears football?

-He hates Cutler
-Wants him gone
-Hates that he's here
-Wants the Bears to win without him.

What does any of the mean?

Cutler is a total asshole. Always has been. Always will be. Fuck him and the donkey he rode in on. I don't care about the Bears either. Not a fan.

Hawg, I'm a fan of the show as a whole but this thread isn't a haven for sycophants and delusional wannabe self-proclaimed Messiahs. I start the threads and do my best to give my own actual thoughts on the show as well as an even keeled review or punch by punch. It's an open forum in here, all are welcome. Lovers, haters and everyone in between.

To answer your questions, well, I don't like the show right now. Maybe it's because of the time of year in the sports calendar, Mac not paying much attention, Meat fluttering about, I don't know. But what I do know is that it isn't a very good show, at the moment.

Wow.

Finji starts rattling off stuff from a site that has rankings for pre season NFL camps....

While reading through what points are awarded for which scenarios Mac makes his displeasure known, grumbles and talks under his breath the whole time, being a real pissy pants.

BUT, then he says "grumble, grumble, grumble, did Speigs write this?" in a very mocking and displeased voice. He then goes on to do a "MeatPants Impression" in a very very mocking tone. That wasn't very nice!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I like the show as a whole, I'm a fan, but I don't like it very much right now.

That isn't very hard to understand.

I don't get the Lovie hate, and Mac's thoughts on Cutler as summarized here are half-baked. Lovie was a jerk to reporters but that has nothing to do with his coaching record which, when he had good talent, was very good. Cutler is also a jerk and has his flaws, but he's the best option at the moment and you could do plenty worse (Krenzel, Grossman, Hutchinson, etc.)

Cutler's fine.

Danny Mac and Jay Cutler are both from Indiana. Indiana people are like chicks, they can't tolerate other chicks/Indiana people.

See: David Lee Roth and John Cougar Mellencamp, Scott Skiles and Steve Alford. Latoya Jackson and the rest of the Jackson family. Axl Rose and Crystal Gayle. David Letterman and Shelley Long. Tavis Smiley and Joyce Dewitt. Theodore Dreiser and George Nathan. and so on.

Agreed. It's incredibly half-baked, half-assed and shallow.

Kind of like the show has been for the last month or so.

Kickoff can't come soon enough.

The last several years Mac wanted the Bears to lose so they would get rid of Lovie. Now he wants the Bears to lose so they get rid of Cutler?

When Jay Cutler is eventually gone, Mac will want the Bears to lose because:
A) Jake Long was smiling on the sidelines while the Bears were down 10-7 in the second quarter.
B) not enough tracks from Highway to Hell are played over the PA.
C) it's too cold at Soldier Field in December.
D) Julius Peppers doesn't sack the QB enough.
